Can somebody explain...

Okay… I’m not as seasoned as some of you guys so maybe one (or a few) of you can explain to me WHY exactly having a snuff that burns a hole in your skull is a good thing? Now don’t get me wrong I’m just as goofy as any other guy and will eat Atomic hot wings or some other dumb “guy” thing just to prove I have the nadz to do it. But it seems like having my eyes water and giving myself an instant headache isn’t really all that awesome. Is this something that comes with experience? Like I will get so numb to the sensation of normal snuff that I will want to put Gunpowder and Ajax up up your nose? I’ve seen a few snuffs that actually advertise this and I’m just trying to figure out what the market for this is.

The burning a hole in your skull gives a quick jolt that some people like. It’s certainly one good way to wake up.

Pain releases endorphines.

My guess it’s all about the nicotine.

To each their own. Some people like snuff that smell like my mothers pocket book.

The only time a snuff feels like it’s burning a hole in my skull is when I sniff it up into my sinuses… Then it’s bad enough that it will double me over. Otherwise, all I get is a mild burning sensation in the bulb of my nose.

People get different types of enjoyment in different ways, I suppose. To those that like to have the top of their head blown off a nice, gentlemanly sp would be like a Chicken Korma versus their usual Vindaloo.

Don’t get me wrong… If it’s your thing more power to you. I just thought maybe I was missing something.

Certainly the sensation should not be able to be described as an ache. If it were an ache then I would avoid it.

I also suspect that irritation increase the rate of nicotine uptake.

No @bob it does not. There is no fiberglass in the snuff.

@juxtaposer @bob

Actually, i see logically why this might work. irritation causes inflammation, which involves an increase of surface area and blood flow. it may just work?

I like challenging snuffs but not to the point of outright pain, but it’s all down to personal choice and the great thing about snuff is that that choice is so wide, probably more so now than any other time than the hey-day, arguably more in some ways as there are flavours that have never been seen before.

It’s all a matter of personal taste. Personally, burning your nose out doesn’t do anything for me… Chili peppers are an entirely different story! There is such a wide variety when it comes to snuff that you have to think of your first encounters as if you were an explorer plotting uncharted land and find what suits you best.

No @bob it does not. There is no fiberglass in the snuff.

I would have just agreed except two things. One I said irritation not mutilation. Second I’am sure some snuff contains fiberglass (not at the time of purchase) but I’am sure some idiot has found a way to get some fiberglass in their snuff at some point.

Good points mates! I’ll stand corrected for now. @bob I did hear that fiberglass was actually found in a dip. It was of course a minute amount that had errantly found it’s way into a batch that just happened to be scrutinized. Certainly, we should not be surprised at the freak parts per million in our tobaccos.

Not fiberglass, but real broken glass is there. Camel dung also. Facts.

I heard wintergreen dip has fiberglass in it because wintergreen farms cover the plants in fiberglass to protect them in winter and some of it finds its way into the product cause you can’t get 100% of the fiberglass off the plants

WHY exactly having a snuff that burns a hole in your skull is a good thing?

I could not agree more - I am into snuffing for the pleasure, not the pain. Have been snuffing for three years now and I still cannot handle toasts or any fine dry nuff - they just act like sneezing powder on me - which is difficult when I am trying to demonstrate to my ciggy smoking friends that snuffing is not only better for you it is actually rather elegant. But there again some people like wine so dry it makes one’s arse pucker - it’s all a matter of taste - so just be true to yourself and enjoy!

Some snuff description is hype. Like grunt; It’s not so tough. Now Bohica that is one tough snuff. Make my hair stand up. May also make a great sore muscle rub ointment .
