Been thinking of trying some snus out but unsure of what are the best sites for the UK. I have looked at snus24.com but the shipping is crazy money, so any help would be great. I want some general snus and the lundgrens to try taking along side my snuffs. Im not wanting super high nic snus so want to try the ones i mention as they are around 8mg which I think will be fine for me hopefully been a heavy smoker. So want these to try and stop fags and just use snus and snuff

A couple of UK-based fellas of mine procure snus from that store. A roll of Islay Whisky Loose for a mere USD 22.40 - that’s more than fair price, bloody affordable, actually. I’m not sure if you can find cheaper shipping for snus these days.

There is a thread here somewhere about buying snus in Europe. I used to get mine from https://snuskompagniet.com, one of the sites that was recommended, you may still find the postage a bit high but they also do deals.

I’ve had to stop snussing now, found out I have high blood pressure, shouldn’t really use snuff but i enjoy it too much.

I have used Snusline for a lot of years to my UK address . Lost a few in transit . . Never been charged duty though . I don’t like the direct shipping from Sweden nowadays or needing to buy quite a bit to offset shipping costs. It does still mostly work though .

I only use 8-12 mg snus myself , mostly loose because the portions don’t suit me .

With just a couple of rolls it works out same as procuring from Snusline, @Pikey. Free shipping was a cherry, but rather steep mark-up on Skruf, Smålands and some other non-GNT / non-V2 loose products was the astringent element. The assortment was also rather limited on Snusline - after all, it was mainly a GN Tobacco and V2 Tobacco outlet.

In this case, i. e. ordering from the EU, it’s just the opposite - as non-EU dwellers anymore, you folks can enjoy low snus prices and access to all brands now, including those of Swedish Match … and pay more for delivery.

I don’t think that customs can charge duty since its illegal to sell in the UK but not illegal to use, and you can’t charge tax on something that is technically illegal.

Excise is not applicable, but VAT is, maybe?

I don’t think so, going back a few years but i bought a load of dip from the US and customs mistook it for rolling tobacco. I rang them and then sent the legal bit they had on the customs website and they sent it me without me needing to pay anything.

Thanks for the replies will give these sites a look at closer later. Not looking to order anything just yet so just trying to do a bit of digging around before I jump in on a site. While Im thinking about it any idea as to what they wrap the loose snus in as will need whatever it is they use as going to try some loose and portioned snus when I order it.

With loose (los) . you just squeeze up a pellet and bung it in your top deck . It’s quite easy to do . It’s a lot like playing with wet hash . You can buy empty portion bags but no need . Occasionally a brand won’t ‘pinch’ up but nearly all will form a nice solid lump.

I’m not too fussy about snus , I can use anything and not really care . General classic is a good choice . I use a lot of Odens los for money reasons . Licorice is my preference but they;re all tolerable ,

Also for a paltry £7.50 , you could add a tub of Odens original chew bags to your next Mr Snuff order . That’s the cheap way to sample snus in the UK without risking 60-70 quid buying blind .

There’s also a few UK tobacconist websites that stock the Odens bags . Selection is limited to a couple of options in the regular strength ; original or cold . It’s ideal material for a ‘proof of concept’ trial though .

Are we talking all white portion, with exact figures like that? If we’re talking salted boiled swedish tobacco product, it’s stout but not imposing. I’ll chew Copenhagen and gut it, but all white portion I’ll overdose on anything over 3mg. Absorption of nicotine from a Marlboro full flavor is about 10% or 1 mg. Absorption from everything but snuff is even lower. And unless we have a deranged German engineer focussing on medical science in our ranks we may never know the true absorption rate of nasal snuff.

We have tried all white and were not excited.

43 years with no citation of peer review. Anecdotally I’d be willing to accept those numbers, however.

Decided to grab some oden’s original portions to try. But will look at these sites next month and order about £60-70 squid of bits. If they arrive ok and not stung might do another order of around £120-130 including postage hopefully keeping it below £135 will be safe.

Slapped a little order in around £50 pound with shipping so will see what happens. Hopefully it don’t get dinged

Ye i did get some odens to try the normal ones and cold think they were around 9/10mg should be ok for me. I bought a pack of nic pouches from the corner shop after clocking them on the shelf to try. Nordic spirit Mint only 6mg but will do me I dont want to be taking stupid amounts of nic. I do know these are quicker at releasing nic so will stick to 6mg or 3mg see how it goes. The snus is slower but longer so will give both a try. The nic pouches from the shop was £6.50 so if I can get stuff cheaper online I will if I can do

The only really good thing about those nic bags is you can buy them on the High Street , no bother . Straight nicotine just leaves me a bit hollow . To be fair , they do work , but I don’t personally get much pleasure out of them .

Proper snus isn’t much of a thrillride either , but it is stupidly effective at replacing a smoking habit . After a while on the snus, the puny bit of nicotine
and alkaloids you extract from a smoke seems more effort than it’s worth .

I love snuff . I have hundreds , likely a lifetime supply of menthols . But I’m not sure if the ‘hobby’ nerdy aspect of snuff is a help or a liabilty if you’re looking to move away from tobacco smoking . Snus is a lot more like a cigarette habit to me . You just do it and don’t think about it too much . I could write a book about snuff . I can barely muster a paragraph about snus .

Ye I got plenty of snuff I prefer that but just wanted to get something a bit extra if I end up super craving so instead of a fag Id have one of the pouches if pushed. I do have nicorette gum but thats only 4mg so if I needed more Id just have a pouch as its stronger and would hopefully prevent me going back to fags.

Time will tell. Im treating the pouches as a extreme fail safe lol. Snuffs my main go to but if my cravings harder a snus or nic pouch it is.

I don’t intend on have a load a day snus or nic pouches a day. Snuff, Nic gum & If needed 2or3 pouches if that a day if I really need something quick and stronger that is.

I’m on my arse right now , so knowing I can get something retail for 6 quid is a comfort .

Got 7 tubs of los in the freezer , ample snuff in the man stash . I’m going to have to make that snus last all summer until my luck changes .A few pots of nic bags in the mix will stretch it out if things get tough .

Looking at your post , I’d probably ditch the nic gum in the rotation . That chemist stuff is better suited for the abstinence quitters in my opinion .

Just an update to keep the thread relevant .

Snusline are offering DHL and Nordpost delivery options (35 and 19 euro) to the UK . Just used the Nordpost and it was silky smooth , the fastest turnaround I’ve ever had .

However , according to the website a lot more are being taxed on entry . Apparently you can claim the duty back from the Revenue …but you still have to pay it first .

Mr Snuff is offering the whole range of Odens chewbags at attractive prices . There’s healthy stock levels displayed on the site so it’s a practical route to procure the stuff if you’re looking for a hassle free UK transaction .

Hadn’t considered the fact that oral tobacco products attract the same amount of duty in the UK as snuff - zero.

The fact that snus can not be sold in the UK is neither here nor there as there is no law against personal importation or use of snus.

My hope would be that NI having to follow EU customs union rules would make the application of duty (or even customs checks) less likely.

Yep, house of pods. Not cheap and only a small range of snus, but convenient for small orders. Can’t remember the exact free delivery threshold, but three cans of Swedish stuff will hit it.

Postage is a bit pricey but if you get in multiples of ten it works out to be about 6 - 7 pounds a tin. Takes about five days to get here.

That’s around the cost of buying from house of pods, who deliver in 1-2 days - £6.49 a can delivered. Obviously HoP have a much more limited range - 2x Goteborgs, 3x General, 2x Ettan and 1x Kaliber. All currently sold out, but they seem to re-stock frequently. Also some Odens and Siberia, but those are available elsewere for much less.

If I have to use portion , I’d much rather have a white , so that HOP selection is interesting .
