Bumps in Your Nose?

Hey guys, quick question. Been using snuff regularly for a good 7 months now and last week I found a bump, possibly a pimple, on the inside of my nose. Can’t see it because of the angle but it’s not dried snuff. This happen to anyone else? I’m assuming a pore got clogged with snuff and now it’s a pimple. Of course at first I freak out and said NOSE CANCER, but then I stepped back and said “C’mon…” So any thoughts would be helpful.

I’ve also got a small bump in my right nostril, with irritation in both. I’ve been snuffing very heavily lately and I am not sure if that’s the cause. I tend to wipe my the inside of my nose with tp, paper towel or even shop rags when I’m working(which is a lot) and wonder if that’s what causing this. I’ve been trying not to do this lately and see if the irritation recedes. I could always stop snuffing, but it is my main source for vitamin N. Not really a direct answer, but I feel for you…

Check out nasal turbinates hypertrophy. Where exactly do you have this bump? On the nasal septum?

@viertel it’s on the inside of my right nostril at the tip of my nose. There’s no way to look into that part because the cartilage keeps moving around every time I try to see what it looks like. But yes it’s on my septum

I’d be inclined to believe it is just a pimple. I get them from time to time as well. If you were not snuffing you likely would have got it anyway and never even noticed.

I have been getting sores ON (exterior) my nose, but I figure thats just because I have been touching my nose so much more (I primarily use the pinch method). My issue is probably excess oils from touching and wiping, blowing etc… If its something that was not there before and is staying around longer than you feel is normal, you could always have a professional look at it, but chances are it is just some type of temporary irritation. Just keep an eye on it and dont freak out too much man.

It’s most likely a pimple or ingrown hair. If it sticks around too long maybe get it checked out but it will likely go away soon.

Okey, so… my next question. What colour is it? Brown? Yellow? Pearly? White? Red? Pink? The same as septum? Please, describe it as precisely as you can.

I get those occasionally like one every few months. I always assumed mine were from getting a little too agressive with a rough paper towel or a finger nail.

@viertel I can’t see it. Can’t get an angle on it. Definitely not the hypertrophy though

I have experienced this; no need to panic ,they come and go with the territory

Agreed. Likely a pimple. Most of us have gotten the occasional one. Snuff can clog pores (or whatever their equivalent is on the internal membranes). Just keep it clean and treat with care as you would any pimple or cyst. It should clear up within a few days. Prevention: Always remember to practice good nasal hygiene!

A dried bit of snuff pulling out a hair as it breaks free, or scratching a tender surface will probably give a localised reaction/inflammation I’d have thought. Besides it’s nearly Christmas so add a pair of antlers and a big red nose will look just fine

All kinds of bacteria live in the nose, mostly beneficial though many people harbor MRSA; I’ve had one minor pimple that got infected but a quick dab of “triple antibiotic ointment” cleared it up in a couple of days.

sounds like herpes to me… believe it or not it’s common to get herpes on your face (The cold sore is a form of herpes) Don’t worry about it, have some more snuff and that should fix it

Man, I actually had this older lady I work with sing a few verses of that song when I came into work with a overly red, shiny nose from trying to clean my oilly nose with to much cheap soap, lol. Just in time for the holidays.

I have to share it with you. I noticed “something” inside my nose. It is on the top, in the corner, between nose flap and septum. It is moving when touched too strong. I looked into my nose with a torch, I saw something like “broken cartilage”, just like I had been pushing too strong on it while cleaning. It feels like a cartilage too. I’ve noticed that few months ago for the first time, saw a doctor, she looked carelessly and said there is nothing wrong. But I don’t trust Polish doctors too much. Yes, I am hypochondriac. That’s the reason why I’m telling you this. For you to calm me down. Did anyone have the same thing in his nose? I also feel something like growth next to this, but I do not know, maybe it is just inside my head.

sounds like how my septum deviation feels. that feels like cartilage sticking out, the main problem is it bleeds quite often.

@Viertel place a fresh slice of garlic against it.
