Are snuff bullets useful or are they pointless? Just wondering if they deliver a proper dose easily for use while out and about. And what is the best style one to get if they are useable. Thanks -C
It all depends who you ask the answer could go either way. I’ve heard people say their bullet doesn’t give them a big enough dose so they try to make the hole in the nozzle bigger. I use the clear refillable acrylic bullets from Toque and I’m pretty happy with them.
I can’t get along with them. Ended up using mine as oil applicators for my electric beard trimmer. There, they’ve found their niche.
I’ve tried all the bullets, and the only one that’s really worth the trouble is the Ultimate Posh Bullet - the bottom screw is recessed, it doesn’t bind, it has a solid heft that feels good. Very high quality. I’ve literally thrown away all my other bullets and use this one exclusively now. It’s perfect for a day at the office, or wherever you can’t scoop directly from the tin. Bullets .I think most beginner snuffer get several and then the graduate to different snuff taken methods and then hardly ever use them. So get a posh .No rubber O ring to wear out and will last a life time.
If you use a posh put the screw back in when filling then remove and replace the bottom. Bullets only deliver a very tiny amount of snuff. and they can be tricky to master, controlling the air flow so it don’t get in the sinus area. point it toward the moist side of your nose. Snuff gently .
I use mine for Dholakia Medicated No.10 a small dose is all you need. It’s like a Vicks inhaler but with tobacco.
All depends. I started off using the back-of-the-hand snuff pocket method, traditional pinch method, and the boxcar method. Now, I’ve been using only my bullet for the past few days. I love it. But I’ve had a bullet for a while and never figured out how to use it right, even with tutorials. But that one was probably broken, since I tried another one and it worked.
I can’t be bothered with them myself, I like to get my hands right in it and pinch. Even snuff I’ve bought in tap boxes are decanted into a container of some sort that I can pinch out of. I wouldn’t knock anybody who prefers to use a bullet but it seems like a bit too much fuss for me.
I tryed a more course snuff in my bullet today (Kralinger Prins Regent) and that goes really well ! The fine snufs go to my sinuses unfortunately.
I have always used the side of thumb
