bullets vs snuffbox ?

Hello all !

I tried a go with bullets , but they seem to be unsatisfactory. I have a metal bullet and an acrylic one, and both were not up to par. what are your experiences with bullets , and would you rather use a snuffbox over a bullet ? Im concerned about windy days !

Snuffbox. On windy days I turn my back to the wind or find a little shelter.

Before you decide you must already know the double/triple load trick for bullet use. It goes something like this; while holding the bullet upside down with a finger covering the dose hole, turn, tap, turn, tap, turn, tap, turn, tap. You now have two doses ready to snuff. Add another turn, tap, turn, tap for a triple.

I use both; specifically, a bullet when driving or in a store or restaurant. I inherited six hand-made aluminum bullets from a friend’s widow. They were made by someone in California I believe and are excellent. Sorry I don’t know the maker’s name.

Both — bullets for outdoors(read ~golf course) and driving.  Snuffbox/turn tins for everything else.

Btw the two, I would definitely pick the snuffbox. Bullets seem good on paper, but in reality, they are not really very useful to me. I know you can use the double load trick. I also have heard of using a knife to increase the size that you can get into them. I just have not found a way that makes them less of a hassle than they are worth.

SNUFF BOXES, flip top by far the best. Silver if you can afford them.Wood flip tops are great too,you can get flip tops made of horn also fo tortoise shell.just got one made of composite material…and the very reasonably priced plastic ones work well. Bullets may be good for the finer Indian snuff or any really dry snuff.

Bullets are great for places where tobacco is prohibited

Definately a snuff box… A pinch of snuff isn’t really a pinch of snuff without performing the ritual!

I prefer a bullet

@cakeanddottle Smoking is prohibited but I have never went to a place yet that prohibits snuff usage. What places do you have in mind?

@KebAMP Corrections facilities

There are also tobacco free campuses and tobacco free work environments. Not just smoke free.  And for insurance purposes some employers have you tested for tobacco use. Fire fighters are a good example.

Snuff boxes rule supreme.

Even with all of the pimping and double dosing bullets give me a completely insignificant hit. The dosing chamber needs to be the size of a baked bean - that would give a dose sufficient for a heavy user and would also make them more practical to use with moist and medium snuffs. If you use anything other than a dry, fine snuff you get repeated ‘blank’ doses where nothing comes out due to the clumping together of the snuff under the head of the bullet.

They are not made for snuff use, so will never be that good until someone re-tools at the factory which will require one of the wholesalers to make a large order. A bullet made for snuff, as opposed to coke, would be a fine thing.

If anyone wants a bigger amount that they can’t get with a bullet, then you can use Molens De Kralingse’s snuff boxes.

You tip it upside down and shake gently, then back up and open the lid, and it’s ready to snuff straight out of the box, and you can tap the box to lower the amount and it falls back down. You also get a much stronger hit of flavour because of the snuff underneath.

Yeah, I suppose, but the thing I like with bullets is the direct inhalation - very neat and discreet. Its the only thing I like with them actually, although they are good for very fine dry snuffs.

I use a stone-carved snuff bottle. Looks cool, feels nice to the touch. I would like to get my hands on a wooden box one of these days though…

Snuff box (got to be a silver one) :))

Of course, I wouldn’t use anything else.

The only instance i see a bullet usefull is quiting smoking. You fill it w/a high power white and always keep it close at hand. It adds to the conveince factor, which for me was one of the only good things about cigarettes.
