Even though I love a good pinch, I recently included a bullet in my last snuff order becaue I am planning on taking a course at a local university and taking snuff in class may be misunderstood. I already get strange looks in the NYC subway( people must think I’m taking drugs) so I wanted a discreet method for when I don’t want to turn any heads. First off, I found it hard to fill. The opening was tiny and I wasted much good Highland Ice (yes I have come around to apprecate menthols as well as ammonia, both of which I disliked when I posted a few months back). I resolved to use a small funnel next time. The main problem is I can’t figure out how to use it. There is a sall turnable button, and I have tried every combination i can think up, but the snuff just does not enter my nose. All i get is a teasing whiff of aroma. i bought a cheap one because I never used a bullet before and wanted to see how I like it first, but this does not even work. I’m sure the metal ones work better, as one simply twists the bottom and it forces up a “dose”, but as said, this one gives me NOTHING. Very dissapointing.
Have you over-filled it? It should be filled about 4/5 of the way with a nice pocket of air between the snuff and the base. To use it you want to hold button in place and turn the bullet itself up side down, maybe tap it down against a hard surface, then turn it right side up, so the bullet is making a full rotation, not the chamber. Hope this helps.
These are the instructions for an Akuz bullet, but they’re applicable to other bullets too. http://mrsnuff.com/images/howto.jpg Good luck and happy snuffin’.
First off they won’t work very well with anything other than a fine snuff as most of them have a very small dose chamber because they are actually manufactured to deliver coke or speed (they were around a long while before the snuff revival) . You will get missed doses with moister, courser snuff. They will work, just not great and every once in a while you will sniff and nothing comes out. This happens because a plug of compacted snuff forms in the head. To get round this, after each dose, point the bullet upwards and give it a few smart flicks with your finger to dislodge the plug. Best used on things like HDT, Indian or US snuffs.
Thanks everyone. I got it somewhat working now. I think I’ll have to invest in one of those brass ones with the turning chambers before my course begins.
They have much the same issues - fine snuff is best for them. The best Ive ever had - including the heavy metal ones - is a Dholakia style bullet from Mr Snuff for about $3. These have an acrylic head and softer plastic body. The worst ones Ive had have been the hard transparent acrylic ones.
hmmm…sounds like the one i got. you may have just saved me the money of getting a metal one.
Damn man, stop crying already!! What happened to the real man of this world ?! :-p
Micheltn. What in the world are you talking about? I asked for advice on how to use something and the forum members helped me by explaining it. I then thanked them and learned from one that the model I got is probably the better one despite it’s cheapness, so he saved me the money of buying a fancier one. Now you come along out of nowhere with your useless comment.
Maybe it was meant as a joke, English is obviously not his first language. Back to bullets, Ive had the posh ones before - definitely the Dholakia type is just as good. The expensive posh ones also give a pretty small dose.
The dholakia ones are nice. They have a decent sized dose too. Plus if you squeze the soft spot (good on bullets bad on babies) it will fill the dose chamber. they are refillable with a funnel. Though if take the chamber from one of the dholakia and file the end furthest from the arrow part down a little bit it will fit nicely in a toque mini bullet.
Yeah, I was trying to be funny, didn’t work, sorry. Buy a Metal one from Toque, these are really good. Mine is filled with Dholakia Medicated righ now, works like a charm.
I really enjoy my posh bullet, it is my favorite bullet because it gives me more control with the finer drier snuffs. If I need more snuff than the first dose I simply take a additional dose from it.
My Toque mini bullet has served me excellently since I got it with my last order, so much so that I’ll probably be buying one or two more with my next order so I can stop carrying tins with me to work altogether. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I use the metal bullets most often, but of all I’ve tried, I like the acrylic Toque ones the best.
