Brunswick or Burgundy?

C

I ordered some Best Dark, but I want to try one of these two. I don’t mind a little floral, but I have an aversion to geranium and the reviews on these two are somewhat vague. Dark, peaty tobacco with citrus and something extra? Sounds like a dark version of Grand Cairo, and that would interest me. Either of these two fit the bill?

Both of these snuffs have a very strong floral component. Burgundy has a medium brown base in the standard medium fine grind Wilson’s grind.  This stuff used to overwhelm me with its floral scent and burn but now I can stand it.  Brunswick will have the dark brown, nearly black base of Best Dark but has a slightly coarser grind.  My batch was unmistakeably rose.  I enjoyed both of these snuffs but don’t plan on revisiting them anytime soon, nor would I describe either of them as an alternative to Grand Cairo (only the Brunwick will be darker in color).

I find Burgundy more floral and less fruity than Brunswick witch exale Orange but not an orange of juice but rather a dried one .they’re both quite thick on grain.

Personally I have a preference for Bruswick even if the first is more satiny of aspect.

Brunswick is good stuff. As has been noted, it’s dark, rich and citrusy, specifically Orange. It’s excellent in the nose but can produce a rather sour drip. Burgundy was a bit too floral for me. It’s like a simplified and slightly darker version of Jockey Club…not as horrible as JC but not a go-to snuff for me. I’d say try both, but I definitely prefer Brunswick and snuff it regularly. Nothing beats Best Dark, though…heaven in a tin!
