Brace for impact

So I’ve switched back to snus and snuff a month or so ago. Rollies be damned .
Now the dreadful day has come , I’m out of snus and have no money to buy more.
The thing is , snuff alone has never really kept my nic cravings at bay too well. Going through the day without at least a portion of thunder seems horribly slow.
Any tips on going snuff only ? I’ve been using snuff on quite a decent scale these past years , but I’ve never been able to stick to it alone.

For me it takes large quantities, taken in lines, of a finer, drier snuff.  Quit (damn it burns) and grunt are about the only thing that can give me that ‘first cigarette of the morning’ feeling.  I too usually supplement with bus or dip to keep the nic levels up.  Without any other source I can go over 5g of the potent snuff in a single day.

I’m not sure why, but I seem to get way more of the nicotine if I suck it up high into my sinuses.  I know it’s not what you’re supposed to do, but it works for me.

  Warm the snuff before putting it in your nose. I always find this gives a quicker nicotine hit. I have no scientific basis for this and it could just be imagination, but common sense leads me to believe I’m right.  

Scotches.  Anything by US Smokeless is best.  

Bruton does a good job of keeping the dip cravings at bay.

if none of that works a can of dip might hold you over.

Dose w/snuff the second you feel a craving for anything(snus, cig) or even if its been a reasonable time between pinches. I have heard of, and even participated in, taken a pinch every 20min or so. If you keep the stream of nicotine constant, you wont crave the others as bad, and eventullay will simply crave snuff.

I’ve been down the same road as you @Jack. I ramped my snus nicotine down while ramping up my snuff nicotine. Worked a charm. I used this product from The Northerner. They sell 4 levels of nicotine. I used one can per week and by the end of the third can I was done. I hardly used the 4th can…which is 100% herbal snus. If you want high nicotine snuff, I’ve found Navy Plain Scotch snuff, Toque Quit and 6Photo Medicated No.66 to deliver so much nicotine that I was nearly sick. The more you take the bigger the hit.  So it can be done. I found week 2 of the lower dosed Loonic Snus to be the hardest. You may need to ramp down to a normal snus for a week before taking on Loonic. Good luck! It can be done and it’s not too painful.

I’ve taken note of all of your advice. I’m gona try and keep it snuff only for a week , if I break down I’ll have to wane myself off snus by pinching some from one of my most recent snus/snuff converts.

Viking Dark, Fubar Grunt and Quit taken until the cravings subside and then maintained to stay ahead of the cravings.

@Slide also excellent advice! I used to believe you could not get a satisfactory nicotine hit from snuff, until i tried a Scotch and 6Photo Medicated No. 66 . I think both of these snuffs must use a large percentage of air cured tobacco which makes the leaves more available to deliver nicotine. I’ve noticed most English snuffs and German snuffs tend to not deliver a mule kick of nicotine but the American Scotches and some of the Indian snuffs, I assume from my experience will give you more than you want.  This is true of any snuff I’ve had  provided you pinch enough.
