Hey is there a way to adjust the board settings? The colors suck. And various parts of the site are washed out and highlighted items are unreadable. I am getting light gray on dark grey.
@Whalen try a different web browser. Go with a more modern browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari.
@Whalen It is not possible to change the colours on a user level. Let me know where exactly you have problems and I will try to fix it.
I am using Firefox 3.6.13. The member names when bold-ed in the same colors are impossible for these old eyes to see. The Names are in black on a very dark grey, I brightened my monitor, helps some, but Blue or red or some high contrast would be a relief.
I find myself straining to see a bit as well whalen…so it’s not just your old eyes…i mean they ARE old
@Whalen You mean the member names on the start screen?
On the discussions page, where it says “most recent by” Alex for example. Alex is black on dark grey, tough to see, I have to get real close to the monitor to make it out at all.
This is what I get both on Firefox & Chrome
I use firefox and the names are hard to read, and as you can see in SnuffHead’s post the dates and times etc also appear as a washed out grey on dark grey, so all in all its pretty harsh on the eyes.
idk if this is new, but i just noticed today that when u put the cursor over the name it highlights in bright green.
@SnuffHead - Thanks!
It’s all a bit gloomy, and not slightly snuff-coloured. But as it’s someone else doing the work, it would be ungenerous of me to complain. Besides, shades of grey have their place. Life, when it’s not full of disappointment, regret and futility, is mostly shades of grey. With that in mind, the chosen colour scheme is arguably a celebration of life, and we should cherish it as such. Besides, I’m using a ‘modern’ browser (Opera) so I can switch off the annoying colours if I ever need to read anything. Though I’m not sure that’s the point.
