These days when snuffing a lot I tend to use more of these cheap.cellulose hanky’s but I still have a meter of silk lying around doing nothing. Is it worth it to cut itt into pieces to have a more soft feeling on the nose when blowing a lot? How do I wash them out without much effort?
yes
Wash them in lav sink w/a tiny amt of dishsoap, allow to air dry.
My silk hanky is my favorite. comfortable, easy to clean and hey ‘classy’ after a fashion.
We are only here for a short time. If blowing you nose in silk make you comfortable go right ahead.
Find Scott’s to suit me as well as silk or cotton. Easier too.
silk just seems too slick to me
Put simply I use bog roll, to use the vernacular of northern England.
silk becomes to slick after wet to me i like a nice 100% cotton blend so it absorbs easily.
I have found that silk hankies are too thin and rip too easily. And like Roderick says, you must wash first or they don’t work as well. But those negatives aside, they are soft on the nose. I’ve gone to 100% cotton personally.
finally i decided to blow in my silk hanky. It is veeeery soft and cleaning/washing/drying is very easy as well. Just cool tap water without any soap or detergent ,all the stuff went away without rubbing.
I wish I could use silk,it sounds so nice and gentle. Sadly, I’m allergic
I use a silk hanky and it is wonderful! Although I don’t usually need to blow my nose, I use it for dusting off the tip of my nose, prefer silk over cotton at the moment.
