I’ve been snuffing the Brown Twist from Gawith for a while now, and enjoying it tremendously, and was wondering what folks’ experience had been with converting the black twist to snuff. Pieter, you in particular, should have some kind of guidance here, as I believe there’s a rope chewing tobacco available by you that is black, and I was wondering whether any of it had found its way to your snuff-mill.
Guanxi88, yes I’ve made some wonderfully strong and tasty snuff out of Black Twist. It is first class on it’s own or it can be used as a mixer. Nice strong, pure tobacco flavour with a good nic hit. Unfortunately we do not have anything like that in SA. The twist was sent to me by Xander and he got it from mrSnuff. While we are at it Dave, “hidden” is the right word because I just can’t find it in your “shop”!
As much as I want to get my grubby grind hands on some locally the fammed cotton boll is not to be had. Also appears the sg ropes cannot be ordered from the US. Now with that being said I plan on a order of the twists from snuffstore on their selection in the near future.
I always saw it, it’s the only item under Kendal’s in the list on the left.
@Dredbull, I could get you some SG twist and rope from a local tobacconist if it comes to that.
Mr Snuff, What is the net weight on those twists? Thanks
@Alcyon: Got me a very nice Krups burr coffee mill dedicated to snuffery; that, plus a bit of mortar and pestle work (I use a glass one, from a laboratory supply house) makes me a snuff of absolutely talcum-like consistency. Was M&P only for a while - took a long time, and required a lot of sieving and sifting to get it just right.
Guanxi88, the Krups burr coffee grinder is the PERFECT snuff mill for home grinding. Nothing to touch it. I do not use my M&P any more and no pantyhose either.
Thank you for that nice out of context quote, Mr. Snuff.
Yeah, but the 10" is in 3 pieces!
lol. Thanks Dave
@ Pieter: it was, in fact, based on your rave reviews of the device that I got the burr mill. It has saved me untold hours of grinding, but I still like the final “polish” that the glass M&P provides, although, truth be told, it’s probably more psychological than anything else.
Mat, please note it’s got to be the Krups BURR grinder. They are a little bit more expensive but it’s money well spent.
