Best Toast Ever!

What is with SG? I love their snuffs but their decision makng is ridiculous. I just pulled my tin of SG Irish D Original out for its rare offering (I’m conserving it) and of all the toasts this has/had to be the greatest toast of all time. The Irish D Light seems sweeter and lighter, lol. But I ask when you’re making one of the best toasts available to man who would you cease? McCombie too was fired!

I loved McCombie. From what I read here somewhere (I think) I believe they couldn’t get the right tobacco anymore. It had such a lovely, clean tobacco scent, not found anything remotely like it.

Ashamed to say I never tried Irish D Original. I tried the Irish D Light and liked it so much I ordered it for years. Serves me right, I suppose.

@HR_pufnsnuff‌ actually I contacted SG regarding Mccombie and their answer was it wasn’t selling enough to warrant it’s complicated production techniques…

That’s a shame, I’d’ve gone through several 25G tins by now if it was still around! Hmmmm - I wonder what these complicated techniques were…

@HR_pufnsnuff‌ who knows what they were. Perhaps they took up to much space in the aging process or curing or what not.

After five years snuffing I’m only just getting to the point of doing big pinches of toast (without sneezing fits, choking or needing to lie down) and they’re now my everyday snuff of choice. It’s sad to hear I’ve missed a classic. :frowning:

I’m sad I missed it. It sounds like it was very good.

@Talljim‌ oh yes sir, you missed a good one. Big pinches are the only pinch. Have you tried a huge pinch of Scotch?
