So I’ve just received an order from Toque with a huge variety of flavours, but the ones I’m most excited to try are the florals. Ever since I tried some Samuel Gawith Bouquet and Lavender Dark on a whim, I’ve fallen in love with floral snuffs… though some, like Otterhound, have a bit too much of that ‘soapiness’ which makes the flavour a bit overpowering. Bouquet in particular, though, just has a wonderful aroma that sticks around but never gets cloying for me. The Toque florals seem to have nailed that same sweet spot too; both Violet and Lavender smell delightful and fresh, and never over-the-top. I’ve still got Toque Rose and Samuel Gawith Wallflower and Carnation to try yet! Who else out there loves floral snuffs, and what are your favourites? Where should a newbie to these perfumed scents like me go from here?

My top 10 pure florals: Wilsons Lavender Gawith Hoggarth Fleurette Toque Lavender Wilsons Rose McChrystals Violet Gawith Hoggarth Ambassador Gawith Hoggarth English Rose Toque Rose Wilsons Wallflower Gawith Hoggarth Jasmine I personally classify perfumed snuffs as blends that contain floral and none floral components, i.e. oils and spices not derived from a flower, such as Wilsons French Carotte, Samuel Gawith Otterhound, many of the F&T blends, Gawith Hoggarth Mitchells. I find that Gawith Hoggarth are the best snuff makers for floral blends - they seem to capture natural bouquet very well (try their Fleurette).
WoS Rose, Lavender, Wallflower McChrystal’s Violet Toque Rose,Violet F&T Macouba, Morlaix (or even the Princes varieties) DeKralingse Macuba Smith’s Golden Cardinal Bespoke Martian Rose GH English Rose, Fluerette I like most florals actually, however no Jasmine has ever made me happy. For this I prefer to sniff the flowers of my jasmine plant.
Toque Rose for me.
I got a sample of Sun Pari from Nicotine Rush and it is incredible, IMHO. Although it is a sandalwood, I would put it in the floral category at the very top. Next week I’ll order two or three tins so I can stop hoarding the sample. It has just a hint of menthol that opens the nose up just enough to get the full impact of the snuff’s aroma. It’s fine, black, very slightly moist and very easy to take. If you like florals, it is a must try.
I thought it was very similar to Himalaya.
GH definitely makes the best floral snuffs on the planet. Fleurette, Ambassador, Carnation, English Rose, and Jasmine are all wonderful.
