I’m a new snuffer and reading about these Bernard snuffs makes me really curious. I thought I’d order a few but don’t want to go too crazy, and the descriptions of some seem pretty similar. These are the ones so far in my cart:

1 x Bernard Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert
1 x Bernard Klostermischung
1 x Bernard Fichtennadel
1 x Bernard Zwiefacher
1 x Bernard Gekachelter Virginie 50g

I’d like to remove one or two and make room for something else.  Are any of these kind of redundant?  I’m trying to keep my order at around the $20 minimum (which becomes $30 with postage), but want to try some diverse snuffs not available in B&Ms. My cart also includes 6 Photo Super Kailash, Samuel Gawith FireDance (I’m a fan of the pipe tobacco), and maybe De Kralingse Bon Bon, or Gawith Hoggarth Sandalwood… or something you recommend?

So far I have Wilson’s Gold Label, Royal George, and Aniseed + F&T Bordeaux and Dr. J.R. Justice.  I like them all - probably Royal George the most.  Definitely have to be in the mood for the floral F&Ts.

I had a De Kralingse Prins Regent (i think this one is rose, bergamot and lemon) come in today actually and it wowed me the most of the snuff i got…you may want to try to put one De Kralingse in that order maybe.

T

Don’t miss the De Kralingse maybe the last time you see them and also don’t miss Gekachelter Virginie.

Since you’re a pipe smoker maybe you’d like Samuel Gawith’s Elmo’s Reserve(like SG 1792 flake) and Samuel Gawith’s Kendal Brown Original or Special…

Thanks. That Bon Bon sounded really good.  According to MrSnuff:

"The primary scents are amber, tonquin and vanilla, with a host of other various oils (published as being: sandalwood, benzoe, orris root, lemon, storax[sweetgum], lavender, begamot, and cognac)

No idea what benzoe is, or orris root or storax, and I thought amber was a stone… but it still sounds amazing.

C

Damnit, you guys are making this harder, not easier!  @tobaccobob, is De Kralingse going under or ?

I guess I have to get Elmo’s because I love 1792 (though the nic is pretty intense for me).  I was thinking about the Kendal, too.

T

De Kralinngse is no more in bussiness thanks to the dutch goverment and EU laws…what you see are the remains so grab it!

Elmo’s is not so high in nic like the flake tobacco so don’t worry.

And yes Kendal is divine…

Also try the Wilsons of Sharrow IHT#22.You will thank me later…
:)>- ok I’m stopping now…

Wow that does sound good. Well amber is a petrified resin, but can be compressed and with pressure and time it becomes stone-like. The resin pieces were burned a coal/coals, and are still burned today, basically how frankincense is in church. Nonetheless i recommend the De Kralingse because it stood out in my recent snuff order, it seems to be scented strongly, maybe its just me since I’m still new to the game but it feels like they are in a different category almost… Anyways, I got a local pipe tobacco store in my town that just recently started carrying some of the Bernard snuff and i haven’t went to go grab some yet… If i don’t make a trip soon I’ll have to ask you about your favs of the Bernard when you get them. Peace

Edit: Are the De Kralingse really going away @tobaccobob If so i really hope they give the recipes out, i may have to put in another order for all of them so i can try them all before its too late.

wow… well if you do decide to get some mr.snuff has some still in stock… looks like I’ll have to make an order real soon.

C

Well, I guess I’m going to get more De Kralingse than Bernard if they are going away.  At lot of them sound really unique and interesting.
