Bernard Gekachelter Virginie

This is a superb snuff. Not a schmalzler. A traditional Prussian snuff that is like a German version of Kendal Brown. Milder on the nose, but stronger in nicotine. Smoky, a little barnyard aroma. A great fermented Virginia tobacco. A finer grind than Kendal Brown, but one that still welcomes large pinches and never causes discomfort. Bernard is known for schmalzler, but their snuffs are superb.

I completely agree. Virginie and Cardinal are 2 of my favorites. Though I prefer the smokiness of Kostlich which is a tad finer grind, if not the same, as the 2 above. Try it.

Virginie, and Cardinal were among my favorites, somehow they got moved to the back of the drawer. I’ve moved them back to the front where they belong. @cakeanddottle thanks for the “nudge” !

The postman just delivered my latest order (Perlesreuter, Kownoer, Klostermischung, G&H CM) but I am ecstatic about the wonderful scent that comes out of that box and bag of Gekachelter Virginie. Wonderfully black and soft with this rich dark flavour that is so hard to describe. It’s such an amazing snuff. It went straight into the portable black plastic container and will be with me all day tomorrow.

a true favorite of mine. A daily snuff for me. Just great straight tobacco, reminds me of how chopenhagen used to taste before they changed it into something not as good.
