Is this particular snuff very dry? I’ve ordered a 10g tin a few months ago, only opened it a few times and was quite unhappy with it. Very dry, hard on the throat and nose, was wondering if this is how this snuff is supposed to be. Today I decided to try again one re-hydration method I’ve tried before and not successful: Placed the snuff in a big plastic container, put around 3ml of water in a plastic cap in the middle of it then screwed the cap on the big container to air seal it. Hoping in a few days to see some moist snuff, otherwise I don’t know if I’m going to try this again. On the same order I got a Bernard Brasil Fresco witch seems ok, pretty moist and enjoyable, not to mention the great plain tobacco flavor! Edit: Just noticed there was already a thread regarding this matter. My bad, didn’t search before posting. I understand this is dried out and its not supposed to come dry …?
This is a very good snuff and it’s supposed to be of medium moisture but as water based snuff dries out in those crazy plastic tapboxes. Rehydrating works but we shouldn’t do that. Bad vibes from Bernard!
Using the re-hydration method I’ve explained above I managed to give this snuff a bit of moist, in a bit longer than 2 days few ml of water evaporated from the plastic cap into the snuff but I would like to know if there is any method to speed up the process. Thanks
@ Andrei: Yes, you can dry direct rehydration, but you must be careful or you will end up with mud. Read a good method on ermtony’s blog HERE I prefer the indirect hydration methods personally, which I have written about in other threads. Ermtony’s method is great if you need it faster. I have not touched my Kownoer in many months. Its probably dry sand by now. I sure wish Bernard would put this one back in glass bottles.
I think Feinster Kownoer is too moist when it’s fresh. I like it when it is slightly drier.
