Bernard Amostrinha

Bernard Amostrinha. Medium coarse grind, moist and fluffy. It has a sweetish, dark cocoa tobacco smell. There is also a faint scent of menthol or camphor. I don’t get a burning, cooling sensation from it, just a nice, warm, minty feeling that doesn’t stay in my nose for long. The sweetish dark chocolate smell slowly becomes less pungent, and the fermented, hay like base tobacco scents come up. Amostrinha has a medium nicotine level, but the grind and moisture contents make it easy to take huge bumps in a short time. Great stuff, even though I sometimes get a slightly irritating throat drip from it.

Must try, sounds fantastic!! That subtle hint of menthol will make me fall in love. I’m a medicated lover

I’m not a menthol snuff-taker, usually. But, this one is really really good!  I have a supply on hand at all times. It’s a nice treat, for sure!

This is currently my #1 go-to snuff. And when I first tried it, I hated it! (I think I even posted on her ranting about how much better Zweifacher was.)

In other words, I’d recommend it as well. Just make sure you don’t give up on it too quickly.

The aroma is very complex/unique and it just took me a little while to understand it. Personally, I find the menthol/camphor effects on the strong and long-lasting side, which for me is a plus. Besides those refreshing, clearing effects the other note I get is a deep, rich wood smoke of some kind. Both scents seem to hang around with some tenacity, and I appreciate how little sweetness there is to it when compared to most German snuffs I’ve sampled. It also gives me some throat drip, but only if I lose my restraint with it.

necro-ing this one up… I used to mix L260 or O&G with coarser smoky moist snuffs to make them more palatable. Until I re-discovered Amostrinha recently and this spared me the effort…Though I would get rid of the Fichtennadel-like spiciness and throw in some clove… A great one anyways !

Just tried Amostrinha for the first time because of this thread. Impressed! The menthol/camphor is not overpowering, and it has a very earthy, almost mushroomy character which I find very pleasant.

Thanks for the recommendations!
