Beginners snuff

I am wondering what type off snuff is good for a beginning snuffer. I like floral and fruity. I don’t really like menthol. Types I like so far : - Poschl Gawith Apricot (menthol is a bit to strong but snifs nice) - St. Regent Kralinger snuff ( nice sent bit hard to snuff because of the big grind) - St. Omer nr.1 ( easy snuff for the evening) - Poschl Gletcher prise ( nice tabacco sent but not a big fan of the menthol) - Samuel Gawith Celtic Talisman is good !! - Bon Bon Kralinger snuff ( nice sent but pain in the ass to take ) - pepermunt Kralinger snuff ( nice Latakia tabacco sent menthol is OK. - Mississippi Kralinger snuff ( super sent but grind is a bit big ) I hope you all can give me some more tips on witch I should try.

Toque’s Berwick Brown is ALWAYS on my list of recommendations.  It has a wonderful leathery base tobacco with strong citrusy and floral aromas.  Coarse grind, easy to take, and the scent lasts a long time!

If you enjoy SPs-- my favorite so far as been McChrystal’s S’Nuff.

Viking Dark is by far the ‘easiest’ snuff I’ve had - zero burn, never the slightest threat of provoking a sneeze and you can shovel it in by the wheelbarrow full to get the most out of that wonderful Drum tobacco-like yumminess. Good nic too!

The following are the ones that usually offer my friends in order to get them into snuffing:

Anything from Paul Gotard

Anything from Stok (Both of these are Polish and have wide variety of flavours, so just pick any you like)

Poschl Packard Club and FC Bayern are nice as well.  They are lightly mentholated, just so you know.

If you like a fermented tobacco flavour, you might try Klostermischung or Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert by Bernard.

Thanks for the tips ! I wil try some of those !

Not sure where you are, but off the top of my head, the 2015 Old Mill Yvette was a light spring floral with berries.  And easy to take.  He has changed it for 2016, but he may have some of the 2015 left.

Maybe @chefdaniel can chime in.

@DireWolf I contacted the old mill and I asked for the 2015 Yvette thanks. I hope the shipping costs will be low but I’m afraid they are not.

Thank you all! I placed an order at old mill for: Kind of blue Antebellum Arrabesque Unfortunately the Yvette was out off stock so I asked Daniel for advise. I hope they are great. Thanks again ! I will take the other advise to a order later on !

Toque Rose snuff is amazing…and I don’t otherwise care much for floral snuffs…I highly recommend it

Great floral/scented snuffs that are easy on the nose are Fribourg & Treyer’s Seville, Morocco, Bordeaux and Macouba.

Recommended fruity snuffs are Samuel Gawith’s Firedance and Celtic Talisman, as well as Bernard’s Magic Moments.

Samuel Gawith Snuff most of them are beginner friendly but they don’t do fruit flavor well. Toque snuff can be a challenge but made easier with a bit of hydration so are most fine dry snuffs.

You can get accustomed to using fine dry snuffs with a small amount of hydration. As they dry over time you will be able to take them with less difficulties expanding your choices of snuff.

I got a can of WOW Roasted Nuts for 99cents on Mr. Snuff and I can definitely say that it would be great for a beginner. It’s got a coarser grind and slightly moist so I can sniff very large pinches at a time. But then again I love toasts and Indian whites haha

@basement_shaman , You mean that I put some water with the fine types of snuff ? I have destilled water wich I use for sigars and my pipe tabak. I also have hydration stones. Please let me know the best way to hydrate. Thanks

@Marielle32 Use a container with a lid fill a plastic bottle cap with water. Place in container, surround the bottle cap with the dry snuff. Put the lid on and the next day your snuff will suck up the moisture. You can also hydrate with added scent by using the zest from fruit, freshly picked flowers, freshly picked herbs, Hydrosols  ,flavor extracts and other vegetation or fruit, even booze. Any thing that has moisture or a scent; snuff will absorb. Keep in mind tobacco has a scent of its own and some flavors when combine with tobacco create a slightly different scent. Best of luck!
