HI I was a member of this group way back but have not participated for a long time. Well I have some interesting snuff news and here seemed the right place to share it. I will begin. I have been taking snuff now for 17years (to my surprise) and I started when I was a medical student trying to not smoke due to the proffession I was entering. Well back then I took snuff rather covertly as it was not exactly fashionable.Well it got me through my degree and a PhD when I just started not really caring if people saw me taking a pinch and I met two other snuff takers at the university, both in 90s…Well I will get to the point of my message, I am what I would think a moderate to heavy user depending if I am at work out and about or in my office and my wife &kids (yes she married me and knew about my snuffing).So recently a close friend of mine who happens to be an ENT consultant pleaded with me he could examine my nose and sinuses. Well in the end I agreed and he examined my nose and took some small biopsies of the walls and small polyps. Well guess what? all was ok nouthing noteworthy to report,in his words… he was very surprised to say the least. Now I do often rinse my sinuses with a saline solution with a touch of bicarbonate I am doing this most days, maybe this has helped? And I do have the odd rare day off snuff (albeit rare). So I thought I would report in to snuffhouse, good to see it still going. Anybody lives in Yorkshire I am happy to have a pint with…hello to all…

Hello @Hoopei and welcome back. I’m in Yorkshire - as are a couple of others - although we are quite spread out. Maybe a Yorkshire meet would be a good thing to try and arrange?

Hello all. Nice to be back. Yes a Yorkshire meet would be a good idea indeed, when it warms up. It would be fun to have contact with some snuff aficionados in person. Oh i see TomAD is up by a few well known Leeds pubs by the cricket ground, we are indeed lucky TomAD to have the variable tobacconist of Greens on hand in a snuff emergency. When i have been to other parts of the UK it has been wise to pack more snuff than i think i could possibly need as one cannot always guess who stocks it these days, although i did find some in a Morrison supermarket kiosk in Burton upon Trent, i imagine they still have to stock as when i wanted to buy a few tins, It was TOP MILL, nobody could get a price of the system for it so i think they charged me a nominal fee. Anyway hello all again…

Hello All, i happened upon a post by chance when on the new Bernard’s web site some one was asking what has happened to people who were around but vanished, well i was hear a long time ago, since then i am married, and i have two kids, and qualified as a Dr. Well did i stop taking snuff? no i did some more reading and thought that the risks were minimal, kind of like eating meat dangers (that i also do). I have been working in a hospital in London, Bradford and then Prague. I am still snuffing and a few of my closer colleagues know. One of them who was a Ear nose throat guy was worried and so wanted to take a look inside. So stuffing a fair bit in the day and loads on a weekend or in the pub he had a good look, not a problem at all up there i am pleased to say. Everyday netti pot rinse with cooled salt water and clear out is to thank i believe. Its been so long ago i cant remember what my user name even was now but i have been snuffing for about six years. I like F&Ts, SPs various, i bought a can of Rooster while in the US that i like on occasion. I also love
Particular snuff from Davys in London. Well thats what i am doing and i am still snuffing! nice to be back Gentlemen. Oh and i am moving to the USA to Boston MA in a few months time, i pray they sell snuff there!
