Awkward snuff moments

Yesterday I went on a nature hike in Red Rock Canyon near my house. On the way up the hike I was snus’n…then I reached a waterfall off the beaten path were I relaxed and enjoyed a nice pinch or 2 of Ozona Raspberry. The fresh cool air really brought out the aromas of the snuff…Anyway when I started my trek back my nose was running a little bit and I relized I had left my hanky at home. I knew there was definatly some snuff leaking out of my nostrils. On my way back I saw three young hikers approach me I decided to stop and tell them about the waterfall I found off the path. They were greatful but as they left I heard one of them say: “What was that shit dripping from his nose?” the other one replied “Probably heroin dude.” I just laughed and continued on my way but it made me realize I nead to keep better track of my hanky for situations like that…I mean it could of been three hot chicks that walked up lol!!! The ignorance about nasal snuff in this country is laughable.

LOL! Thats a great story xD I havent had anything like that happen to me but when people want to try some of my snuff sneeze brown goop everywhere it makes me giggle =p. Maybe people should listen when i tell them not to “snort” it!

Hehehe, that’s awesome. One thing I’ve noticed about the Ozonas and Poschls in general is they like to drip back out the front. I stick to scotches for my out-and-about (without hanky/tissues) snuffs because, gross as it may sound, they run to the back for me and if accosted by other humans I can always, um, “store” it for a moment… And yes, I realize the above could probably be mined for the out-of-context quote page, do what you will…

You know I have noticed my W.E Garrett tends to hold back in the nose too. I dont usually drip from anything but I think the cold weather aided in what happened. I really need a snuff box…the ozona tins are much easier to carry around than a 1.15 oz tube of Garrett.

Seriously? You don’t know how to blow your nose in the woods? It’s called the Scottish blow! You simply take your fingers to your nose to adjust the nasal air flow to your preference then blow! Better yet…do it in the city, and call it wall art.

Where I come from, we call it a snot rocket…

Amish blow. Farmer blow. Yeah very important thing to do. If you don’t you’re not civilized.

Lol I just took a sniff I wasnt going to waste it…Im to low on menthol…

I ALWAYS carry a small mirror, no matter where I go. I know it’s terrible to look someone in the face when there’s something dangling from his nose.

the front of my cellphone makes a decent ad hoc mirror, when needed…

Yeah, rockets and blows. You gotta think of the little creatures too, It’d be like raining raspberries.

@Jesu27 , a fellow Las Vegan?

And to add something of merit to this thread… how about when non-snuffers start tripping about something they smell on/from you when you hug them, lean in closely to speak, or kiss goodbye? Haha.

Mrs. S. has walked into the room moments after I’ve taken a pinch of Scotch, and said, “Smells like a campfire in here!”

Yep Im from Vegas rhs!!! So im kinda new to snuff but have only found 2 shops that carry the goods locally: Mr. Bills ( We Garrett) Tobbacco Town (poschl silverstone, glethcherprise, General snus.) Tobbacco Town said there getting an assortment of snuffs in the coming weeks… Have you found any other places?

^^I’d recommend grabbing up the Silverstones and putting them on the trade thread. Its no longer made, but there is some demand still for it, you can probaby get a good deal in trades out of those.

I thought about getting that silverstone for anyone who wants it, but the cigar store I found them at has a cigar smoking lounge and it seems to me that the snuff has absorbed a little of the cigar flavor…They had the snuff in the display box behind the counter. Seeing as this has been discontinued a while I think it sat there long enough to take on the cigar smell. Unless the snuff is supposed to smell like that…I havent used it much.

Just had another snuff of it definatly smells of cigars…but not terrible…cant really smell the orange. With that said if anyone is desperate for it let me know Ill see if they have any left. We can work out a trade.

Unfortunately, it appears as if the Las Vegas area is pretty ‘tame’ when it comes to snuff selection. I took it up out here and had my start with Poschl snuffs. Tobacco Leaf (Lake Mead and Rock Springs) carries Ozona Orange/Raspberry, Packard Club, and El Presidente. Another place (random discount head shop) on Craig and Decatur carries Gletcherprise, the Ozonas, Chief Bull… etc. All Poschl stuff. So, no, haven’t really found any other places that have a variety of snuffs. That all said, you get a better deal by ordering directly. If you haven’t yet looked into Toque snuff, I recommend it heartily. Awesome variety, nice tasty tobacco, and EXTREMELY prompt shipping. Four or five days, in fact.

Note that my experience is mostly with North Las Vegas.
