Hi snuffheads! I´ve just tried Atherthon´s sandalwood, and kind of liked the flavour, and woundering if there is any better sandalwood taste out there? Atherthon´s is quite sharp though, any ideas?
well theres at least 5 other sandalwood snuffs, go to snuffreviews.com and search for sandalwood
Its identical to Gawith Hoggarth Sandalwood. There’s sandalwood in F&T Santo Domingo and also in both F&T and WoS French Carotte. Then there is the brand new WoS Sandalwood. I’ve heard its good, but have not tried it.
QWS Sandalwood. Smelled like guinea pig bedding to me.
I love the qws sandalwood. Then again sandalwood is a long time favorite scent of mine. Of the sandalwood snuffs I’ve tried I love them all their all diffrent but great. I’ve tried the qws which is the woodsest of the ones I’ve tried and the sweetest. I love french carrote the f&t version it’s more of a dry sandalwood but also great and it mixes with rose of sharrow like a charm. Santo Domingo reminds me of smoking a maduro while burning sandalwood. All great.
Are there any older fellows out there who remember the old brand of snuff available at your local headshops called “COKESNUFF” they had the old hippy favorite of sandalwood and it was one of my favorites. I have not tried any of the modern versions yet, but I do appreciate all the insights this group has given. For someone getting back into nasal snuff after a long, make that too long a time gap it is nice to see that there are so many of them available, and with all the members opinions of said snuffs it is easy to pick and choose the next one to be on your purchase list. Thank you all for your insights, you might say out here in the middle of the corn fields having a discussion about snuff is likely to have mr billy six pack look at you and say something like 'What, you dont like Skoal or Copenhagen! What kinda sissy are you?" or something witty like that. Not to mention that availability truly BITES. I have tried numerous times to order from local merchants and always end up with one being available W.E. Garrett, you got your choice, sweet or regular…ewwwwwww what a choice.Steve in Saint joseph Missouri, oddly enough in the middle of a Tobacco growing farms region, burley mostly I think.
I’m going to agree with Bob on the QWS Sandalwood. It’s really great. Have to say I like Copenhagen as well, although Stoker’s has knocked it out of my top spot. Skoal is another matter entirely. It always tastes sickly sweet and artificial to me.
Sandalwood snuff? This is something I have to look into. I love that smell… I’m still new to snuffing and it seems like the flavors are endless.
sandwood goes great with tobacco. To my nose neither gets in the way of the other.
I’ll have to add a tin to my next order…
