Kingston-Upon-Hull in Yorkshire had a thriving snuffing community in the early days of Snuffhouse. Some here will recognise ErmTony and Snuffhead amongst others in the St. John’s public house.
While I was never a fan of tap-boxes for water-based snuffs it appears from the containers that Gawith Hoggarth & Co was a favoured manufacturer, at least in that particular pub.
Is there anyone still here who recognises themselves in the second picture?
Aye, man, tha’s nawt so good as snuffin wi’ pint in St. Johns. I’m sittin by lass on t’ left.
