Are the any secret snuff recruiters out there?

A

At the moment I’m slowly turning my smoking work mates over to snuff, also all of my friends love it. Occasionally when mates are having a smoke in the beer garden, I sometime flaunt my snuffing as a conversation piece and try to advocate and preach for the all mighty snuff.

Is anybody else a promoter when the opportunity presents itself?

J

Yes. To cigarette smokers.

C

Keep up the good work Ambassadors!   :D/

I’ve gotten a couple of pipe smokers to try it and most have really liked it.

S

GREAT WORK GUYS !

J

I try. I made a convert out of a friend who dips and smokes cigars. Funny thing, he liked the aroma of Sir Walter Scotts Havana Toast the best but took him awhile to learn how to snuff it without sneezing fits

U

I converted my neighbor a few weeks ago. He’s still smoking, but he always has some snuff with him.

B

It’s annoying turn people on and they look at me like I am their snuff daddy. I’ve given away samples and converted a few. added extras to my orders for those who don’t trust CC info over the internet. And some just refuse to try snuff because of former drug abuse and are content on inhaling poisonous cigarette smoke even though I explain the harm reduction of  noncombustible snuff .

My brother in-law asked why do I use snuff, Does it get you high he asks. I said does something have to get you high to use it? I told him it’s just another experience to make life enjoyable; sure you can encounter a nicotine rush if your tolerance is low. And it opens up pleasure receptors in your brain that makes people ,situations, and unpleasant things much more tolerable. He claims tobacco is stupid but there is scientific facts that show tobacco makes you think better and makes you more productive . It is good to arm yourself with facts. never argue a losing conversation. I let him smell my snuff and he said it was nice but he wouldn’t put it in his nose.

You can’t convert them all but you can plant the seed of wonder, and when they are ready the light will shine. I’m no secret snuff recruiter but I am also not one to stand on a soap box shouting to the world. It’s just polite when taking a pinch to offer others to share in your delight.  I openly snuff in public without blatantly making a spectacle of myself. Most people mind their own business even if they don’t know it is just tobacco.

J

Kind of agree. Take snuff in front of people, answer their questions if they are curious, offer a pinch if they want one. But I get really annoyed if people try to talk me into something I don’t want to do, even if it would be good for me, so I don’t want to do the same thing. The only time I do get on a soap box a bit is with real tobacco enthusiasts, pipe and cigar smokers, if they’ve never come across snuff before. And if someone tells me that they are considering vaping to give up fags, I’ll tell them I think snuff works better and is a classier act. But I don’t get a commission for recruits, so live and let live if someone prefers something else.

S

3 work mates who don’t dabble in anything tobacco related have tried a small box car of McC chocolate :). 1 of my friends snuffs when we are drinking but hasn’t gotten anything for himself (yet lol)

J

I just gave a store attendant a silver dollar raspberry. He was very interested in snuff.

5

My friend’s all think I’m far too eccentric to emulate anything I do :))

M

The only person I’ve ever given a pinch of snuff to, is my older brother. Every single person I have ever offered a pinch of snuff to, has declined. Maybe I’m hanging around the wrong crowd.

S

I offer to everyone. Only three have ever taken me up on the offer.  I have quite a few folks at work that like to check in with me to smell what I have in my snuff box for the day… but they stop at taking a pinch.

G

My youngest brother was a chainsmoker for the last 10 years. He always liked to sip from my pipe whenever I would light one up, but his busy lifestyle wouldn’t allow him to get into pipesmoking. 3 weeks ago, during a weekend visit, I tricked him into trying some of the snuffs I had with me and he was quite impressed. 2 weeks ago I gave him a fresh small tin of Ozona English Menthol. Two days later his wife said that she “panicked” during the night because he wasn’t snoring at all ( also a long lasting symptom of his blocked nostrils). Then he asked for more varieties, and I gladly stashed him up with 5g smashboxes full of fresh SG KB, WoS Honey&Menthol and some scented Paul Gotards I wasn’t very keen on. He has now reduced his RYO sticks from 20 to 5 daily. Seems that snuffs suits him perfectly because he can always pinch on the go.

N

Anything to get people off the coffin nails. Kudos to snuff.

P

I’ve gotten two people into snuff from smoking and or dipping.

J

people at the bar just … both non smokers got a guy his own tin of hedges

and another guy always asks me for some wasabi and takes massive pinches .

they seem to like mentholated snuffs at the bar

N

Life long friend and his band will be doing a low key show at a hole in the wall brick and mortar tavern next weekend. Of course non smoking atmosphere. Will have a great arsenal of snuffs to entertain old and new acquaintances.

O

My grandfather steals pinches left and right when I’m around him. I offered snuff to a few friends that asked to try it. A couple liked it, but only one that I know of went out a placed an order. The others are happy to take a pinch anytime I’m around though.

E

I do offer snuff to those around when I take a pinch.  Quite a few people here in the region like it but don’t use snuff regularly - more than happy to have a wee bit now and then.  No one has been turned in to a regular user as yet, but there is still time

S

I do from time to time… usually get a quick “no thanks”, but every now and then someone will give it a whirl and like it.  It seems to be the menthol sensation that gets people’s approval (wasn’t the case for me).  I got my dad into it, and now he’s almost a bigger advocate than I am!

A

Ended up converting a few smokers today. We had a motorcycle group ride and meet, 500+ riders in attendance. At the rest stop took out my Amber glass bottle filled with Spanish Gem Ambrosia and decided to indulge in a few pinches around the smokers. As soon as I finished my pinch and looked up I had around 20 smokers looking at me with a perplexed look, an elderly man actually knew what snuff was and took a pinch when I offered. Several of the older smokers came over and sparked up a conversation and I gave them a brief history of snuff and a quick tutorial on how to take it. 2 of them ended up snorting it and sneezing while 3 others hesitantly took a pinch and some how snuffed it perfectly. The 3 smokers who actually snuffed it asked about purchasing some and after I explained the price difference, they very well likely may be making their order right now. Either way it was a nice day out.

P

Holy crap that is a big group for riding. I don’t really like riding with more than 3-4 others though. Anyways, good job on introducing snuff to others.

N

I was a smoker and recently fully quit smoking replacing this for snuff. I do have the occasional cigarette with the drink - but its really just next to nill. I got two of my friends hooked onto it and they say they’re interested in knowing and exploring more. The trouble which @basement_shaman states about becoming a snuff daddy, I understand. Its happening to me. They totally rely on me for their next orders!

Anyway, I think I would continuously educate smokers who I care about, since I think this is a good harm ‘reduction’. Well, I myself am just exploring - but yes, I am a secret promoter of snuff and will continue to be.

@Aamon - the tutorial thingy. Neat stuff. When I do it, it makes me feel like a pro

C

I have already given away 2 10g. tins, to two people. In only one week snuffing. Spread the word!

P

I’ve added several other people to my recruitment.

M

The other night I was at the bar with a friend who wanted to go have a few drinks after work. When we arrived it was just my friend and I, until he spotted a few of his coworkers at the bar having a couple brews. We all got our drinks then sat down in some real comfy rolling chairs. Some conversations flew by and someone started talking about previous drug use and then the guy came into the conversation. The guy who liked to do some illicit nose candy spotted my Poschl Red Bull next to my vodka on the rocks and exclaimed “Is that snuff!” Sure is, I said. The next thing I know, he’s asking for a pinch, so I granted this pinch for him as I wished to have a snuff myself. By then my friends coworkers were asking about what was that!? You really sniff tobacco!? Then the guy started giving a brief history about nasal snuff to his friends. All the while I’m sitting back thinking, this guy is really cool. He knew about history and enjoyed things going up the nose but he did acknowledge that nowhere here in the states has he seen, heard or know where to buy, know people who enjoy snuff. The next thing I know, my Red Bull was passed around for everyone to enjoy. I thought it was be a powerhouse and blow someones head off like it does mine, from time to time but really everyone who smokes pretty tough was sitting back, relaxed and nose open like the window.

Bottom line, I do believe I’m a snuff recruiter but don’t work for money. I work to get people off of death sticks and promote a easier living lifestyle choice, instead of smelling like a ask tray. Really I don’t go about looking to shove snuff in peoples faces but get comments from onlookers when about. Sometimes people have the courage and ask, what was that. Most commonly folks at the bar who are older. Maybe people who been overseas could relate more but do get some youngins who ask.

A

“My friend’s all think I’m far too eccentric to emulate anything I do.” This. I’m the guy that listens to weird music, has an overly expanded vocabulary, and likes Rudyard Kipling and Charles Dickens. Everyone looks at me like I’ve sprouted a second head. But yes, I try to be an ambassador of this noble habit.

Y

I don’t really do it in secret. I know that there are at least 20 people close to me who are now walking around with a tin of McChrystals and some with other snuffs.

J

Well, I took some in front of a group of friends the other day. One of them, a smoker, was surprised and wanted to know what it was. I offered him a large spoon of Dholakia White. He, ahem, has a history with powders, so he snorted it forcefully, with the predictable results. If he’d paused to ask me, I would have given him advice on how to take it. But he didn’t. I was kind of enjoying the sight of him changing from red to purple, eyes watering, sneezing and hacking. But what really amazed me was that when he could speak again, he asked me where the hell can I get hold of some of this stuff?! It’s great!

So I put him on to MrSnuff.

F

I have converted a few people here and there. I also did an interview on the pipes magazine.com radio show on the pipesmagazine.com website, in which a good part of the interview was about snuff.

C

I have done a few snuff prize pack contests on my Facebook pipe and cigar group page, I got a decent amount of interest. Of the 4 or 5 people that I send some too, only one ended up placing an order with Mr. Snuff. I know will offer pinches at gatherings, but nothing more as I can’t afford to pay for other people’s hobbies anymore. The amount of people that turn down a pinch of Red Crest is crazy!

A

I use President while at work and I’m always trying to convert the smokers.

A

Just won possibly two people. A welder just came up and took a pinch of Wilsons Ice Licorice and was impressed. He said one of his guys was interested in trying it.

N

@JakartaBoy even if you told him how to take it he still would have snorted it right back, they always do no matter how much you emphasize to GENTLY sniff it.

A

If I’m pinching on a plane I offer it, one taker so far and gave her the last of my Toque Citrus. Met a couple of guys while snuffing at a valet and after they both tried SD Original I left them with the tin. Offered to a few in after hours work scenarios but no takers yet there. Brought out the USA W&H after a funeral and had many interested but all too embarrassed I think to try. Oh had a few couples over for a birthday a couple months ago and got 4 takers. And a few weeks ago one more.

C

I converted my older brother to snuff after I used it to quit smoking and chewing, now he is on it as hard as I am and hasnt looked back. Any time I am at the bar or in front of the hotel I use it quite blatantly in hopes that someone will ask a question and try a pinch. Have given away a few small tins in the hopes of keeping people interested.

C

I was in my brother’s sports bar a few weeks back and wacked a few tins on the bar, started openly snuffing and got some interest. By the end of the night had about 5 guys coming back asking for more. They were smokers, I wasn’t peddling addictive substances to nicotine free people.

N

I began using snuff towards the end of 2016, and until now have 6 of my known to get into snuff and give cigarettes a break. Also, I use it shamelessly on my work desk, in the bar, in the cafes etc without a care in the world. I wouldnt use snuff hiding it. What is there to hide? Even if a conversation starts with someone demeaning the snuff usage, the conversation ends with me telling them the benefits and them being an ignorant lot not knowing about snuff which is the oldest form of enjoying tobacco. And they agree. Snuff recruiter - might not be a strong one until now, but promoter - I am, wholeheartedly. I do not want this industry and its usage to shrink but to grow grow grow!

M

Here in the UK, the government does not levy any excise duty on snuff.  A 25g tin costs in the region of three pounds.  Compare this to cigarettes, which are astonishingly expensive to someone who hasn’t smoked for years.  I feel torn between wanting the snuff habit to become more popular, yet being afraid that, if it does, the government will want to start making money from it.  I think the present situation strikes some sort of balance.

V

Last month I introduced my brother (a smoker) to snuff and snus and he got excited about smokeless in general. He had beginner’s problems with finer grinds (toasts and gul), but enjoyed schmalzlers (Bernard Aecht altbayerischer and Poschl Perlesreuter), menthols (Taxi Green, WoS Singleton’s and Bee M), Indian snuffs (41P Himtaj Golden, Dholakia Black, Taj, 6P Super Kailash) and dipping Cheeta Gul. He succesfully rehydrated some old SG Gin & Tonic and turned a part of it into schmalzer, learned to mix snuffs and make his own snus from old snuff. Hitting snuff/snus really hard, he effortlessly reduced smoking close to zero (and it even wasn’t his aim).

S

In the past 8 months I’ve introduced 3 or 4 people to snuff. One rushed to make a big order online then after a few weeks decided his nose didn’t really agree with it. Most say it’s pretty cool but don’t really peruse it. Then I have a buddy at work that tried ever new blend I get, but he is a non tobacco user. He just enjoys the flavors and the novelty of it all. I did get at least one member from another forum to sign up here at snuffhouse, it I havnt seen much from him in the past few weeks it seems. Maybe he’s one of those weird people that don’t stay on the internet all the time?

P

A few years ago I was running sound for a friend’s band at an upstairs bar and got out my Viking Brown. I had a few people interested and they tried it. One who tried it sniffed too hard of course and it really blew his head off. I could practically see his brain sizzling. He was like, “WTF did you give me?” I’m not sure if he ended up liking it but at least one person did.

Then one of them busted out his coke and lines were done right on the bar table… lmao. So I’m not sure if I recruited anyone but at least they know about it now. If anything it was a fun night.

C

  Sort of.

My friend grew some rape in his garden and I convinced him to grind some up and snuff it. He loved it

and has been doing it since.  His home made stuff was green and powerful. It was weird, like a mild hallucinogen almost, and made me a little sick when i took too much. Then I introduced him to FUBAR snafu plain, and he’s been loving it ever since.  Just heard he went over to my other friend and he ended up liking it too. So now 2 of my 3 closest friends like snuff. The third vapes that girly froo froo cupcake smelling shit and probably wont change.

(It would be funny if friend number one saw this.  Hi Aaron!)

N

9 of my friends / close acquaintances use snuff now. 5 of them have quit smoking all together, but these were not heavy smokers to begin with. The remaining still do smoke, but they have cut down from a pack of 20 cigarettes or so to just having 3-4 of cigarettes a day. I am happy with the result nonetheless.

Their curiosity got them interested (What are you snorting?!), because I use snuff without any apologies anywhere I go. I was into pipe smoking for a while along with using snuff (honestly, Sherlock Holmes made it look cool to me as well), but the unavailability of good pipe tobaccos in India, the expense of good pipes  and the maintenance that the pipes required made me give up pipe smoking too. They lit up a cigarette and I use to take some snuff. Initially it was tough for me to resist a smoke while having a drink, but I can proudly say I havent smoked a cigarette or a bowl in a long long time. I think the main reason the heavy smokers are happy to use snuff is also because they are able to save a lot of money from that damaging chain smoking habit - plus it keeps their families happy from the absence of the lingering smell of cigarette smoke.

I was happy to order a few snuffs for them and still do from time to time.

They were astonished to know a forum like this exists and that snuff has a decent fan following worldwide.

J

My dad felt in love with Toque W&H USA, pinch it occasionally but still smokes/vapes a lot. My mom started to take small pinch of Radford everyday for her nasal problems, says it greatly improved her breathing during allergy symptoms. I think a little tin of Snuffy Weiss would be perfect for her Other than that, I know many people in my age who do some Poschl snuffs from time to time (many of them smokes as well). Its pretty common thing in Poland, so I usually just try to broad their perception on existing variety of nasal snuff.

S

I offer it to anyone who asks, but most people call me weird, or worse. Very few times has anyone even known what it is, and even less care for an explanation. Whatever, I quit a 2+ pack a day habit with snuff.

M

Funny in a way, we heard about it in my high school American history class, but most everybody thought it was just something of the past. I was thinking, yeah… somebody just gave me my first sniff of it in science class.
