@Roderick, many thanks for your prompt reply. i understand that issues with bullets are unavoidable due to the increased technicality as compared with a simple tin, and as far as your necessity for bullets is concerned, i have whispered to you a post that i wrote, agreeing with this matter. toque bullets are a fantastic tool for promoting your brand further as an easy and ‘cool’ alternative to cigarette smoking. very kind regards, snuffin
Quality cerainly must vary, anyone have any Bullet reviews? Looking particularly at picking up either a “Posh” from snuffstore.co.uk here: http://www.snuffstore.co.uk/the-posh-snuff-bullet-metal-p-358.html?cPath=48\_65 or a “Snuff Shot” from here: http://www.snuffshop.com/page/snuff/PROD/acc/rocketp Anyone have any input on either of these?
The problem I had with the bullet, besides the dose being way too small and having to do 6 shots in a row, was the little knob got harder and harder to turn. I gave it a good cleaning and it didn’t help. Maybe I could use a little vegetable oil on the o-ring, and perhaps modify the dose like roderick mentioned. I think I’ll use the drill press though.
onefortheroad, sometimes if I have a bullet in my pocket and I feel like a big snuff, I will just unscrew the top and pour an amount onto back of hand. Its pretty fast and easy. Also if you drill it make sure to go up in very small increments or you risk cracking it. Better yet might be a dremel tool with small grinding bit, like grinding out a tooth.
the problem with drilling a bullet is not so much the head but the barrel. The tolerances are very fine and you risk splitting the little barrel rendering the whole thing useless. better i think would be to remove the barrel; elongate the ‘cup’ along the length so you end up with an oval rather than a circle. that will increase the quantity and negate the need to drill out the bullet head (hence reducing the risk of cracking). the hole in the head is large enough, it is the volume held in the barrel cup that is the limiting factor imho.
Dont like em that much, but I do think they are a handy and discreet way of taking a hit. Roderick: How would you define the risks of nasal snuff? I know we’ve gone over the issue lots of times, but what would your basic message be? I accept the risks whatever they are (a life without Toque?Never!!) but how would you condense your knowledge of the issues in a few lines? Sorry if this is a silly question!
there is increasing evidence that it prevents the onset of and slows down the development of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Dementia. That has pretty much been proven about nicoteen a while ago.
Personally I don’t care for the bullets I have tried. One of them I think was defective, but I “fixed” it, and it was like a super hitter, and another seems to be working well, but my problem with the bullet is being able to control my sniff. Now I admit to noit having much bullet experience at all, as it wasn’t appealing to me from the offset. But the times I tried it, it was too much of an uncontrolled snort. Now these might be best suited for users of another nasal substance, but as one who likes to use the back of the hand mainly, the bullets I did not care for. And also, the selling point seems to be the ease of use, with drving and such, and again, maybe it’s just me, but it seems the bullet is more complex and labor inducing, for one has to turn the knob, turn the bullet upside down, maybe apply a tap to it, then hold the knob while turning the bottle back up. And then sniffing it in. If I am doing it wrong, please let me know. But after a bullet sniff, I don’t much get the taste or the pleasure of doing a pinch off the hand, and I usually dose the bullet and tap it on the hand. I have a few bullets, and will use up the snuff in them, but I don’t care for the bullet with my experience, maybe it can change some day.
Yes they are, but don’t use moist snuffs in them as they clog. Fine to medium grind, with dry to medium moisture work best.
Don’t make that a very fine and very dry snuff. I accidentally blew my head off a couple of times with Dholakia Sparrow cool in a bullet. Barely avoided odd stares in the subway as i was cringing in pain. Swiss chocolate/ toque raspberry are good to go , i don’t have to be as careful.
Jack, I know exactly what you are talking about!!! I also filled up with Sparrow Cool which then wasn’t so cool after all.
Yeah, that’s my issue with bullets, I have a hard time trying to control the sniff.
They are useful at times, but I’d prefer to pinch any day. I like to release a little at at time for an even hit, impossible with a bullet.
Well, I also don’t see the “ease” of the buller, if you have to do the whole turning procedure to use it. Seems one needs 2 hands, to do it. Tap-cans and smash-boxes just seem easier to me. Maybe out side, in the wind with both hands free, it could have it’s positives, like bowling or on a golf course. But still, I just end up with a big snort, and don’t get the joy of snuff at all. But that’s me and my limited bullet experience, others must like them.
You get the knack of re-loading a bullet one-handed with practise (like whilst walking the dog when I’m holding onto the lead with one hand). I find you want an easy-going snuff in a bullet and don’t shove the thing up your nose, be gentle with it. I use a bullet every day now, except in the evening at home, as I’m very messy otherwise and get it all over my lap and on my upper lip!
No they aren’t. I am working on a snuff gun though. I’ll post a video when I complete it.
Don’t forget I use a crossdraw holster.
Juxta - You know you get first dibs on the snuff gun. It was your idea, I’m just working out the kinks.
I find my toque bullet brilliant for dosage, but awful for taking snuff out of. It’s harder to control and I always end up feeling like my face is on fire. Leman, a snuff gun!? That sounds both brilliant and terrifying.
I must confess that i like the bullets, as trout stoker mentioned they work great in the dark as well when you are driving… Yes they also dont hold enough for a good PUNCH, however as a builder we modify things… So with every new bullet i get the very first thing is to break out the drill and drill bits… very carefully one must take a bit that is just a tad big bigger then the hole provided, very carefully drill a hole just a little bigger an a little deeper then the one provided… Further it is not that big of deal to take 2 or 3 hits in a row… So yes give me a bullet because i work outside all day in the wind, snow, rain, sun, and so forth… It is not so easy to just open up a can and take a pinch!!!
