Anyone else ever seen this snuff video?

It’s in a foreign language, but it gives you a good look at the goings on at the Sam Gawith shop. http://youtu.be/l0\_BeKQTxSE

Thank you @CmosPixels‌, that was very interesting, I like the idea that snuff makers still honor tradition and I really like the idea that snuff is still made by small companies not something made by robots in some modern factory.

@Bodger_Boggins You’re welcome and same here.

That same video has been on DISH Network satellite TV, in English on the Science Channel. Pretty good.

I’ve been there! The scent in the air as you go through the front door is just gorgeous, a mixture of everything - me and Mrs Pufnsnuff had the feeling it was just wafting out of the woodwork, having sunk into it for a couple of hundred years. Bob Gregory is a proper character, really nice chap.

Heh, some oddities there, IMO. The photo shoot budget didn’t have room for actual snuff.

Contrary to popular belief, snuff will not turn your mucus brown, so there’s no need to be overly self conscious about using your handkerchief, at most you will see a patch of brown dotted flecks should the snuff cause you to sneeze

Well, it certainly turns my snot fairly dark.

While many merchants or even users of nasal snuff are happy to bask in the glow provided by the absence of any evidence linking nasal snuff to health risks, remember that these claims are misleading. The absence of evidence alone does not make a substance harmless. Nasal snuff had its heyday in the late 1800’s, and undertook a sharp decline after cigarettes became easily and widely available in the early 20th century. Being such an uncommon habit, it has not been worth the while of scientific authorities in public health to study its effects. As long as very few people continue to take tobacco nasally, the public health effects will be so limited that we will continue to remain in the dark about its true long term effects.

“No real evidence of health risks, but it will probably kill you.” This wasn’t the worst advice I’ve seen, however. Some of these advice sites are riddled with guesswork and misinformation, especially the ones that offer a small payment for cranking these articles.

I still think second hand snuffing would be interesting. Just put a HUGE pile of it on your desk like Tony Montana did with cocaine near the end of Scarface and, dive right in. There would be snuff flying everywhere cause second hand nicotine ingestion all over the place.

Fantastic video, thanks cmos. I’m drooling and imagining the wonderful smell of all those ancient snuffs.
