I used to work at a farm back in my mid-30’s to mid 40’s. Hard work and I have some arthritis and a few fragile ribs to show for it now. But I loved it. Vegetables, strawberries, and high-bush blueberries.

250 acre sheep farm and about to pull the trigger on another 500 acres which will be used for cattle. I like being my own boss and it keeps me fit and strong.

Just gardening here. Grow a wide variety of things. Most edible ones are annuals, but I also keep a few fruit trees and bushes. I hope to add beekeeping at some point and convert more of the yard to permaculture.

I think in our current economic climate and where things are heading it’s a great idea to have a decent veggy garden. @xander let us know how it goes with the bee keeping as i’ve been considering this for a while. The only reason i havent done it yet is there is a local who sells it for $6 a kilo (2.2lbs) which is pretty cheap.

I am not a farmer but we run a pony rescue centre and do everything from looking after the herd to fertilising the fields etc after doing this I have total respect for farmers I dont think people appreciate the hard work and long hours involved its not a job its a way of life and I would’nt change it for the world…mind you a day off would be nice

14 22" pots of 7 different varieties of tobacco growing in my front yard. Had to pressure wash aphids yesterday for the first time this season. I hate it when the aphids come. From here on out until harvest it will be a constant battle. One of these seasons, I’ll break down and use a pesticide, but for now, just soapy water in a spray bottle. It’s not so bad with only 14 plants. Welcome!
