i am, ive got a 2005 yamaha fz6 fazer in blue.

T

I have a 10 speed.

M

Here’s my “bike” I usually refer to it as a scooter but it’s a 150cc, so technically…

P

I ride a FELT Virtue Two 27 speed dual sussers mtb!!!

C

Here’s my old postie bike.

F

that looks like a lot of fun.

C

His and hers:

F

i like the fact you can off road on one of those too.

C

Those bikes have a dual-range tranny. 4 lows and 4 highs. You can practically climb trees in the low range.

F

i,ll try and put a pic of my bike here. but im having problems uploading it. :0(

J

I put in fifty miles a day going to and from work on my Kawasaki Vulcan 900.

C

LoL, if I’m going downhill, with a tailwind, and tucked in, I *might* hit 50mph!

X

I’ve gotten my bike up to 46mph, going downhill, no wind, and tucked in, but it doesn’t have an engine.

B

2 Harleys and 2 scooters

P

I took my GT Zaskar out for a spin today!!!

P

@ Enfield, I love a single cylinder which is that big! Gives a lot of torque plus, music to the ears!! I’ve noticed the “old” wheels but it’s got a nice BIG front disc which tells me it’s a modern bike. It’s a beautiful bike because it’s plain but it shows a lot of muscle. I’m to old now for motorbikes but I still love being on 2 wheels. So I’m limited to bicycles. I love my mtb but do have a hybrid as well which I use for road riding. And I still do some mtb “racing” as well in the Grand Masters category. Our next mtb event will be on the 1st of August.

S

Love that retro look of the Royal Enfield. I’ve only seen one in the USA. I used to have a '76 Yamaha 650 twin. Got me though college. Hell of a good bike. Now I have a '97 Yamaha Virago 1100. But it needs some work.

S

Yes, Enfield, it does. The “Enfield” I do have is SMLE MK 4 No.1 in .303 British. Made in 1943! I made some small perfomance modifications before I sold the 650, Basically I put bigger jets in the carbs, K&N air filters, Hooker exhaust headers into a drilled out muffler and oh yes, two Toyota Truck coils for lot o’ spark. It was pretty loud and screamed up steep hills in top gear without lugging. Wish I still had it. One thing I really miss about it was the ergonomics - I could easily stand on the pegs whilst crossing a bumpy patch, not so easy on the Virago. Also you could lay down and rest your feet on the passenger’s footpegs, giving the back a good stretch. I need a bike designed for a tall person not the average Japanese. Once restored, I will probably sell the Virago and get a older BMW of moderate displacement for touring.

C

The Old Man wants one of these. Buell Blast. 500cc thumper.

F

i love buells, i want a buell lightening 1200. one day

C

I want one of these bad. A little Honda Ruckus.

S

i’ve got a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Drifter, the one that is an Indian replica with big swoopy fenders. My other bike is a Lemond Poprad cyclocross bicycle. I ride it on the back roads and trails around here. I’ve been very happy with both of them.

J

I like those fenders. Do you have a passenger seat for that drifter? My wife insists by bikes have seats for her. Oh well.

S

I’m contemplating getting a scooter at some point when I’m at University. I really want a postie or a Ruckus, but I doubt I’ll be be able to afford one.

B

Just bought one of these.

C

bakdoor, I want the little Ruck! The Old Man is pissed they don’t produce the Big Rucks anymore.

B

You can still get them in Japan. I got this one off ebay for 3300. 800 original miles!

B

Like the Ruckus! I’m stuck on the mid-70 Jap bikes . I’ve got a 1975 CB125s, a 1975 xl100, and a 1975 suzuki TS400 Apache.Started with a CT70 , wish I still had that little cuss! Can’t beat the life span of a Honda–One-lungers for me!

B

Latest acquisition. 1959 Duo Glide HD Panhead.

B

And, something to haul it in!

C

Greaser bike to the max. Effin sweet! Nice Hauler! Where did you end up getting it?

B

St Pete. Went to look at the toy hauler and ended up buying both!

B

Guy said his knees are bad and he can no longer kickstart it

M

You must be selling a WHOLE lotta snuff! : )

B

Thread necromancy! But I have two machines. 1988 GSXR1100 1989 Dnepr MT11 Sidecar outfit

B

Nice bikes, Bish! (I always wanted a sidecar for my boxer to travel with me)

C

This is gonna sound nuts, but I want a sidecar on my CT 90…bad!

R

This makes me miss my Norton Commando…*sniff* *sniff*. Oh well, thank god for the Sportster.

J

Got an old 78 Suzuki GS400X out in the garage, awaiting a few new parts. Also attending a Motorcycle Safety Foundation beginning course right now! Better late (32) than never!

S

09 Harley Electra Glide…with the fairing/windshield and the cruise control, I can snuff while I ride!!!

I haven’t taken any pictures yet, but I just purchased my first scooter. It’s Hammerhead’s La Vita 150 EFI. It’s not a vespa, but a close enough clone of its 1960s VBB series. Needless to say, vintage scooter enthusiasts hate it with a passion (will they attack me if I encounter them on the road?). The following is not my own scooter, but it’s exactly like it minus a few reflective stickers (and a decal displaying the flag of colonial Hong Kong).

B

Why would other scooter riders hate your ride, itsuke? Who cares if it’s not Italian, as long as you’re riding, is the way I see it. Kind of looks like a Stella, too. @Carol That Stella company carries a scooter sidecar that would look nice on a Honda your size, haha! I’ve thought about it too.

L

This is my darling! Perfect for the german “Autobahn” without speedlimit! Scott

N

@Longcut, that looks like a bolt of lightning… Very Cool…

I

@Bart Vintage scooter enthusiasts see the La Vita 150 as a Vespa imitation (which it is). They think a true scooterist must be happy with shifting gears and doing constant maintance on a 2-stroke. Sadly I don’t want to deal with either one of them, especially when I ride on the mean streets of New York City.

J

Update: I passed my operator skills test last night! Soon as I take my written test I’ll be endorsed, w00t!

G

Im just getting my license sadly Ill have to reduce my bike to 34 horsepower because new bike riders under 25 have to do that, I guess to keep my youthful recklessness at bay. Ill probably get a used Honda CBF 600. looking so forward to this. @longcut Im a bit jealous, but Id be even more so if it was the b-king and not the Hayabusa

C

Busa’s are nice. Envy.

P

I own a 2 leg power Felt Virtue Two plus a 2 leg power GT Zum Hybrid. The Felt is not very fast but it can go where NO horse power driven bike can reach.

B

I miss my old 7/11. Take a 1985 GSX-R 750, add a 1992 GSXR1100 motor, stick on 1996 honda fireblad forks, front wheel and brakes. You get one of the most entertaining ways to kill yourself yet invented. The guy who stole it and crashed it (within 5 minutes of nicking it) found out what a handful it was. I can at least sleep at night knowing that the guy will walk with a bad limp for the rest of his life.

G

well I went out to day to check on used bikes and this is what I like best so far: a Yamaha bulldog so you dont have to google: Id really love to buy it, used obviously, but its still quite expensive… Well any thoughts about the bike from the snuffbiker society?

J

I’d say that bike is mighty wicked! It will turn you into a hooligan if your not already one. Even if you are, it will still change you.

B

The bulldog is disappointingly soft and slow. A yammy MT01, Suzuki SV650/SV1000, Duke monster etc etc would be better. I always fancied an Aprilia Tuono myself.

G

yup I also now read that the bulldog is more of a puppy, the one I looked at was sold yesterday anyway. While Id love the MT01 I on one hand cant afford it and on the other hand here in Switzerland, and also in Germany I belive, If you are under 25 and get a motorcycle license for the first 2 years you are limited to bikes with 25 kW (34 horses). It is possible to reduce the horsepower in a bigger bike though, but it doesnt always make sense. Right now Im looking at the SV650, a couple of interesting offers around, so i shall check that bike out next. Any thoughts on ABS by the way?

B

My boss races an SV 650. Seems to be the bike of choice in my area…there are many, many out there, which means many parts and aftermarket goodies. I’ve ridden it and it is an all around really nice bike. Would you stuff a banana in the pipes to cut back on horsepower, GB?

G

lol Id like to try that just to see the look on the guys face that checks the bikes when I get my license, actually the idea isnt that far off, basically you put something in front of the holes though which the engine gets the gas. link to the bike ill check out as soon as i can get there Bike

B

Looks like a good one. Well, I’ll tell you now of a sight for plastics www.airtech.com Get some Lucky Strike stickers and a nice set of sliders and you’re golden, GB!

C

Err… I think that’s a travel site.

B

the other airtech

B

airtech-streamlining.com (sorry there, blame it on the vortex)

G

well another week spent checking out bikes and thats the one ill probaly get:BikeIll do a test drive on saturday and if it doesnt fall apart Ill get it. Im not to keen on the green (poetic) but the rest is convincing.

C

Very nice. I’m sure it would be easy and cheap to get the green re-sprayed. Although, as you say, the green does have some true meaning (wait, I think you were just rhyming, I meant green as in new to it)!

G

I was actually just rhyming but youre right there, being even more poetic. probably snuffed and drank to much. have you got a bike chris? getting more and more pumped for that bike every minute.

C

No bike here. I almost bought a cruiser a few years back, but didn’t want the extra bill. Down here, motorcycle riding is so seasonal. I still want a Duro pretty bad!

B

Nice bike, GB! Kawasaki makes a good bike. " I still want a Duro pretty bad!" You talking enduro, Chris, or is that a local “Floridian” type of ride?

C

Yep, Enduro. I just call them “Duro’s” for short (atleast that’s what they are called down here). I checked one out a few years back… it was a tad bit too high for me. But a guy can dream.

B

@GoldenBoy The 25KW/33BHP limit is across europe-the same here. I passed my test in 1998 so was one of the first to have the restriction. I had a 25KW bike for 3 months, gave up and bought a 120hp FZR750 and rode it anyway

G

just got back from the dealer.Me and my bikeIts a crappy picture but here you go, me and my new bike. Never mind my face though, I have the talent to always close my eyes in the best moments.

B

Congrats! Nothing like a new-to you bike… Watch “The Wild One” before you go riding, though, GB (Do you have a trophy you can tie to your headlight?)

G

thanks for the congrats Bart, sadly it will be a week before i get the insurance and then another ten days before I get the license but the longer it takes the longer I can look forward to my first ride. Now for that trophy sentence I have no idea what you mean with trophy. Something you win after a race? Im confused now, but Im also celebrating this day with a lot of beer and Makers Mark so…

O

Marlon Brando movie “The Wild Ones”

G

lol ill now have to watch that movie. thats freaking awesome.

G

got the bike today, also bought all the gear helmet and so on. Now Ill have to wait 10 days till I can legally drive it. Its killing me…

B

Hell, GB, one little ride down to the corner store can’t hurt, just to blow the carbon out of your pipes…

G

hehe thats what Im thinking too. Ill do one tomorrow, I already celebrated a bit to much with beer and bourbon this afternoon.

G

lol had my first ride ever today on a empty parking lot. was great fun although I broke the clutch lever. (underestimated the power of the front brake, bike fell on the left side…) But I guess that happens when you learn.

B

Oh well, there are two kinds of bikers: Those that have wrecked and those that haven’t wrecked YET. At least you got it out of the way early,LOL!

G

indeed, glad to have it done with only 5 km/h. going to get it fixed this week. Only 8 days till I get my license and can start taking some courses… some pictures of my bike: broken clutch edit: sorry those pics are huge…

B

When you start craving more power I can tell you how to remove the restrictors

B

GB, need an update! You been keeping the greasy side down? You never posted how you did in the Isle of Man TT?!

G

sure Bart. Im having a lot of fun with my bike. Quite nice getting better all the time. I already did 2 of the 3 courses one has to take, an Im preparing my self for the license exam. Isle of Man TT?? lol I think thats something Ill save for the future. The clutch was fixed for 10 bucks and so all is well here. The weather is nice right now so Ill go for a ride instead of writing here.

J

I just got some new rubber for my bike. I am starting to open the throttle all the way. I can barely break 100M PH on the straits, but I do. Soo glad I have a small bike.

I

Currently I have 2 old school 70s (P200, Et3) Vespas and a Honda Ruckus. I had a Buell Blast for a year and then sold it. also had a Honda CB 125 should have never sold it

J

@iggy, how did you like that Blast? I’m starting off with my old Suzuki GS400 and was considering a Blast down the road as my “secondary” starter bike…

P

You must please stop talking about motorbikes!! I’m 66 years old and I’m itching for another bike before I leave this world. I don’t want a big bike, only something like the GS400 which, I think, was a very nice machine. On the another hand, I’m a speed fanatic and love to travel fast, whether on 2 or 4 wheels. So I won’t buy a small bike or scooter as it will only frustrate me. I want something which can cruise at 120kph with some juice to spare. I fancy a Dugati but they are very expensive toys. In the mean time I will have to make use of my Felt to scratch my itch. Going downhill is not to bad but climbing…don’t want to think about it!!

P

Well, I had to buy something so I “invested” in a new GT ZASKAR EXPERT mountain bike today. My current bike is a dual suspension job which gives a nice, soft ride but it’s terrible on a climb. The GT is a hardtail. I’ve owned one of them before I got the FELT and therefor I know it climbs like a dream. I will keep the FELT for training and use the GT for competitions. Will have to sell my road bike though, my wife is furious because I’ve “wasted money on another bloody bike AGAIN”!

B

I think I am going to sell the GSXR and get a BMW. The Suzuki is immense fun but the ridong position is starting to casue me agony.

G

my bike was knocked over by some jack ass, which broke the clutch lever again, scratched the bike lightly and broke off the thing with which you change gears. (dunno in english). of course they left it lying there with no clue who was it. arrg.
