I know I saw one on ebay a bit ago that was in better condition, but I didn’t order it. Does anyone know about any others of these? Perhaps where else to buy one? I really want it, but I just don’t have spare money lying around until pay day…and the bidding ends at noon tomorrow. :\ Plus, I would like to see what one in better condition goes for. Thanks ~Ken
I have a laquered snuff box. It just sits on the snuff pantry for decoration. It looks nice, but sadly the materials used to make it have created an odor, so I’m afraid that anything that would be in the box would be tainted by the scent. However, that box you linked up is very cool, and over the past 3 years of scouring ebay and antique malls for boxes, I’ve never seen another like it.
I doubt I would actually use something like that for snuff, as I have several other, more practical, boxes in which to put snuff. That is just a mad epic box. I have never seen anything else like it until a couple of days ago, when I saw the same one, but in far better condition…and now this one. Hopefully I will be able to find another next week when I actually have the money to purchase it. Such a cool box. ~Ken
So I contacted the seller about the box when I noticed that bidding was nearly over and no one had bid on it, asking if they were going to put it back up for auction if no one purchased it. If so, I would purchase it the next time around. They said they would wait up to seven days to receive the payment, so I bid on it and won.
