I thought I’d share this with you guys: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FRIBOURG-TREYER-OLD-GLASS-BOTTLE-OF-SNUFF-IN-BOX\_W0QQitemZ260399796824QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK\_Collectables\_Tobacciana\_Smoking\_LE?hash=item260399796824&\_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&\_trkparms=72%3A1684|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50 It appears to have original F&T snuff in it - the Cuban tobacco rather than Zimbabwean. As much as I’d REALLY love to buy this, I just can’t afford to at the moment, so I hope one of you lot manages to snag it and tell the rest of the forum about it. Only 2 more days to go - Happy bidding!

Edit: NEVER MIND!
I could click it and see it.
Yes, I’ve been watching that one closely and with interest since it was first listed…
What’s the going price? I am at work and can’t access ebay.
For future reference:
25.00 pounds
It’s a lot of money, eh? But I’m sooooo tempted. Anyone else thinking about bidding?
I would love to, but it’s not in my budget. It is beautiful, though.
I had intended bidding, but a lot depends on what other bids there are. There’s a limit to how far I’ll go!
If I saw it at a garage sale for 10 bucks I’d pick it up.
DEbbie, are you sure there is still some snuff in there? Before you place a bid, rather ask the seller and make sure. I won’t pay £25.00 for an empty F&T bottle. Btw., I can’t find this article on e-Bay

@ Pieter - this is what the seller says in his listing: “OLD GLASS BOTTLE, WITH STOPPER AND BOX, OF FRIBOURG & TREYER MOROCCO SNUFF, 1/3 rd FULL A bottle of “Morocco” snuff in an old glass bottle with a ground glass stopper and original blue & gold box, approximately 1/3 full This snuff was made by Fribourg & Treyer who used to have three retail premises in London and one in Oxford but which closed in the early 1980’s. They sold out to Imperial Tobacco who then sold their snuff recipes to Wilsons This lovely bottle has a very decorative label printed in black & white which reads as follows; FRIBOURG & FREYER 175 Years in the Bridgman-Evans Family Tobacconists & Purveyors of Foreign Snuff (Sole Importers of Oriental Segars) to their Majesties the Kings of Hanover and Belgium, Their Royal Highnesses the Dukes of Sussex, Cambridge and Duchess of Kent No. 34, Upper End of the Haymarket, SW1 Lloyds, Leadenhall St, EC3 130 High Street Oxford & 18 Burlington Arcade, W1 with their telephone number on the back The bottle is 5.50 inches (14 cms) tall and the box is just slightly taller Condition of the bottle and label is excellent with no chips or cracks and the snuff inside still has a strong smell. The box is slightly worn looking but in generally good order I do not know for sure how old this is but guess that it may date from the mid 1900’s, it is s very decorative bottle” If you copy and paste the above URL it should take you straight to the listing. Perhaps it might be a good idea to check with him/her before placing a bid though.
catching up on posts here. Very nice! Did one of us make the bid?
Not yet
My bid for the Levi Garrett is still standing, hope I get it for $5.00. Shipping will be about $12.00 making the total price $17.00 which is about R190.00. I will be quite happy to pay that, even a little more if need be. The F&T sounds a bit expensive to me. So I will not place a bid on that one.
Someone’s bid on it already - ermtony, if you’re going to bid I will step aside - I don’t want you paying over the odds!
