so far i’m all about Packard’s club
Latakia A/P & Latakia Peppermint and always McC’s O&G.
I’m so boring… I don’t have one yet…
Christmas Joy and Latakia A/P
Also, really doesn’t feel much like winter here, 76 degrees today.
My old standby for the winter & through the holidays has been Levi Garrett, it just satisfies. And the Spanish Jewel gives a nice warming feeling. But with the new addition of Toque Ice, the candy cane snuff is finding its way into my holiday rotation, really goes good with the scent of the Christmas Tree. And the Espresso is going good with the chimney smoke in the air & the smell of the wood fire in the house. Christmas Joy is always good with the hot mulled cider or the hot buttered rum. I don’t limit myself to just one.
Beau Nash is dark & moist. Reminds me of Copenhagen Fine Cut.
This is only my second month of using snuff, so I’m still experimenting. At the moment, I’m still a big fan of Ozona Cherry. I just placed a huge order with Rajek’s that set me back about $108.00 shipping included. I ordered a lot of Poschl snuffs, a few McCrystal’s and a couple others just to mix it up a bit. I have found that no matter what snuff I use, as soon as I step out into the cold winter air, it seems to amplify the scent of my snuff. It’s making winter a little more tolerable for me
My favorite winter snuffs are definately the peppermint latakia. The wilson Honey Menthol and S.M. blue are a favorite. The cinnamon snuff I make in the winter I like because it warms me up like a motherfucker.
Its -1 degrees Celsius here already tonight. I have an old Sherlock Homes film on the TV (thanks to the internet archive!), the lights on the tree glowing and a big glass of Baileys. I have been switching between Poschl’s Club and Ozona President all evening. The phone is turned off as I have no intention of going anywhere in this cold! Not a bad Sunday night all in all.
Cold, -1 C? Maybe living in Alaska has skewed my perspective, but that’s bordering on rainy weather. I’m afraid I must ridicule you most severely. But I do agree with the sentiment. I’m about to switch off and get to the old typewriter.
Well I guess Alaska is a whole other level of cold TheLong! We do tend to moan about the weather in England, whatever it might be. Its tradition! What are you writing on the typewriter? Working on anything interesting? Troutstroker, I dont get the crossed out L?
It stands for No L. Get it? Just say ‘No L’ a few times. Its a holiday thing.
Mopey- I’m reworking a book. It’s my third (of four that I’ve written) and the first one that hasn’t been complete shite and worth the effort of revision. It’s one of the things I came to Alaska to do with relative solitude. That and write for the newspaper; but that just pays the bills. As you can tell, switching off has not been as cut and dry as it should have been. Sundays are generally not the best days for my willpower, haha.
@TL what kind of books do you write?
Well, the one I’m reworking is literary fiction and the one I wrote last month (for national novel writing month) is experimental fiction. I wrote the thing out on a typewriter and then put it into my computer, printed that out and revised it twice and then printed out another copy of the revised work and am now retyping it on the typewriter before putting it back into the computer again. Basically, I am forcing myself to rewrite because when I originally wrote the book I did the first 100 pages in about 6 months and then I wrote the next 150 in about six weeks, so the first half lacks the solid voice that is present in the second half. I hope by rewriting using the typewriter that I’ll be able to have a consistent voice all the way through. I’m still working on an intelligible synopsis. It’s such a hard thing to do; condensing months of effort down to a hundred or so words and still convey some idea of the purpose or quality of the work.
Best of luck on your literary endeavors. Fortunately for myself, I had an attack of sanity (hunger) and gave up my ambitions of authorship long ago.
Luckily I write for a newspaper, so I feed myself by writing, and I usually have enough time to work on whatever I want at night. I’ve published a few small things, poetry mostly, but I think I’m going to give this authoring business a pretty sound run for its money. But, hey, when I graduated Uni with my degree in English I was stocking beer at supermarkets and living at home. After that I worked in IT and after a little while got a pretty sweet admin gig. Now I get paid less, but I don’t care, the satisfaction is infinitely greater doing what I’m doing now.
I heard about the November writing month thing after it had finished. It sounds like it would be fun, and having a community of others encouraging and helping would give you a boost to get it done I imagine. I started two pieces of writing this year and have not finished either of them, but you have just given me some enthusiasm for it again! I just need to send my girlfriend and kids away for a month or two…
