An anthem

A good friend, who I introduced to snuff, just sent me this poem by Keats declaring that it my anthem and that it should be carved onto my tombstone: GIVE me women, wine, and snuff Untill I cry out “hold, enough!” You may do so sans objection Till the day of resurrection: For, bless my beard, they aye shall be My beloved Trinity.

You prefer wine over beer?

Most women wine, but I don’t prefer this.

I definatly prefer wine over beer myself. Then again beer is probably my least favorite version of alchool, I mean seriously who thought that much water in your booze was a good idea???

@Bob     LOL!

I tend to drink beer because I also like it the least.  If I’m drinking the stuff I really enjoy, I can easily throw back a couple too many without even thinking.  With beer, I really know it when I’ve had two of them.  Beer, at least for me, is a self-limiting behavior.  Over time I’ve come to appreciate many beers, and even enjoy many of them, but it’s still my least favorite way to consume alcohol.  A scotch on the rocks is magic to my senses.

Love scotch and bourbon on the rocks too. Especially in winter. Never have been much of a beer drinker.

Not like beer…what kind of forum have I wandered into here???

I love beer.

Especially the Bacchus cherry flavour beer.

But my favourite alcohol is vodka.

I’m also a lover of beer, but I like wine too on occasion.  I like all alcohol really.

I’m a coeliac and can’t drink beer. :frowning: So I drink cider and neat spirits, and wine, instead :slight_smile:

@Vathek Didn’t he die of TB??

@mr nemo I have Crohn’s and have found that spirits are the only way to go with alcohol. Since spirits are absorbed immediately by the stomach, there is nothing left to irritate the gut—unlike beer and wine with their many impurities.

@MrNemo Gluten free brewing is advancing at a rapid pace, have hope!
