very smokey, high nicotine compared to some others I have tried. very enjoyable. Don’t see why it has rose in the name I realy don’t get a floral note like I expected but none the less i recomend it. if you can keep it from choking you with a little cough.

This is just plain good stuff. The front end is quite smokey but the back end produces a very subtle flowery smell. Best of the American Scotch snuff I’ve sampled thus far (Peach Sweet, Navy Sweet being the other two.) It doesn’t seem to have the vitamin N kick of Navy Sweet but the nicotine content is adequate nonetheless. A great all day snuff. Virtually burn free for any pinch smaller than your fist. This one is a keeper I’ll undoubtedly go to for ages to come.

Tube Rose is rather different to many American sweet scotch snuffs. For a start, although it is very fine and dry (as expected) its sweetness is subtle and understated. In addition to that it has a very light floral flavour lurking behind a touch of smokiness which I find most enjoyable. On top of all that I don’t find it as challenging to take as most scotch snuffs, sweet, plain or strong. All in all, this is good snuff.

Not quite what I´d expected. First of all the sweetness is really very mild, nearly subtle. Can´t detect a floral note here, but a delicate toast flavour, not too unlike the Irish Toast #21, but milder. The most remarkable thing, though I don´t get a nicotine rush from this, it´s incredibly satisfying. Well, chain pinching is an option here as well, as it´s a very easy to use scotch, but I´m in no need after the 2nd pinch, for a long time. The flavour lingers nicely, too. A scotch I´d get again.

Of all the sweet scotch snuffs I have had, Tube Rose is the least sweet. For me, that means its the best one and one can take repeated pinches of it without it getting cloying. This is the first sweet scotch I have encountered that I would consider keeping in the permanent collection. Since getting it, I have learned a bit about the tube rose flower. It seems it is a flower used in perfumery. This snuff is not a floral snuff, but it does have a light floral scent in it which is especially noticeable if one steps into fresh air. Its a shame that American snuff evolved towards oral tastes, as if this were more floral and less sweet, it could be amazingly good. As it stands its a mild sweet snuff, the sweetness may have a touch of agave nectar (which is the tube rose’s family). I would recommend this to one who enjoys scotch snuffs, but generally finds the sweet ones too sweet.

I really liked this blend, was a little different from the other american scotches I have had. Really rather subtle, which you may or may not like I dont know about the nicotine, some of these scotches seem to be really massive in the nicotine like standard and others I cannot detect very much such as this one. I really didnt think much of it the first time, ( i normally snuff in the cellar with while on the computer or studying) but one time i snuffed in the cellar an walked outside the sent just blosomed. Very recomendable

Tube Rose is a most pleasureable snuff indeed,it has a sweet tone that isn’t dominating, somewhat floral scent that has a similarity to Society snuff. When sniffing Tube Rose you’ll notice it has a nice nicotine punch to it.Good Quality Snuff but I do find that Society has a better floral scent/flavor than Tube Rose.

One of my favorite Sweet Scotches whose medium sweet isn’t overdone as some. Nothing really special about the flavor and is in fact quite similar to many others. Tube Rose is just solid all around and a pleasure to sniff. Where it shines is the somewhat underdone sweetness and it’s power to satisfy. Along with Top, Tube Rose hit’s almost as hard as some of the Dry Scotches. The underwhelming sweetness also makes for a great all day pinch that doesn’t burn one out too quickly. Another solid 4 snuff for me. The American snuffs are getting to be in a dead heat for my noses affection, the satisfaction cannot be beat…so far.

I’m not really sure how to review this tin. It is a sweet snuff, but also a bit more…there is something about this one, a certain way it hits your nose that makes it special. Not sure if it is the tobacco or the fermentation or the flavoring, but it really has that “It” factor to it, kind of like HDT had for me when I first tried it. I am not comparing the scents of the two, just the feeling of satisfaction I had afterwards. I’m just not sure if it is one particular thing that I really enjoy about it or if it is great because of the sum of its parts. For me it is hands down the best sweet scotch on the market. The rose scenting is very light and definitely stays in the background. Easy on the nose so larger sized pinches can be enjoyed. |
