Alcohol Infused Snuffs and Medication: A Discussion

Hey everyone,

I was recently in the hospital for a medical problem I had, and I’m on some medications now. They all say to not drink alcohol with them, however, I was thinking, what about alcohol dressed snuffs?

I’m basically thinking that the amount of alcohol in a snuff infused with it would be minute and not bad at all, but what is your take on that?

Just a discussion I thought would be interesting!

When an alcoholic beverage is used to infuse tobacco, it’s generally only the flavor of the beverage that lingers in the snuff, and the volatile spirits will have evaporated. In some instances, snuff makers will pre-evaporate the spirits to make the rest of the flavor more concentrated. If there was any actual alcohol in snuff, it would sting as it hits the mucous membrane, which would be a very undesirable outcome.

786 Yea, even with the drugs which say don’t use alcohol I’ve done so anyway without dying. I’m a teetotaler now, so take it for what it’s worth lol…anyway, my rule of thumb is this: of I can get drunk by eating or snuffing it in humanly-feasible quantities I count it as “alcohol” and steer clear. I’ve never run into a snuff which can make one drunk no matter how much I can put away.

Alcohol evaporates.
