Airplanes and snuff

Just curious about airline travel with snuff. Anybody have issues with security? What is a good way to carry-on without trouble? (I’m thinking plastic snuff box would be best).

Orignal container is best when worried someone might think it is something else. As to snuffing on the plane if you are worried about it then snuff in the bathroom. I had to do that when I worked at a hospital that threatened to fire any employee who used any tobacco product on campus.

I’d just carry it on, it’s no worries, I’ve snuffed on planes several times and gone through security with snuff. I just threw it in the box. Unless your snuffbox is shaped like a gun you’ll be fine.

@normfeth…being a SH member…perhaps his nasal passages are shaped like duel mortars…snuff will be the least of his problems"

BTW @normfeth…WELCOME…and safe travels in good health!

Leave your bullets in your luggage

Just do not use the Mistersnuff Titanium Vial … it is quite likely to draw massive (and perhaps violent) attention from anti-terrorist and bio- or nuclear hazard decontamination squads. By the way, when will these vials be available again? Patrick B. Ludwig

i recently traveled with a bunch of different tins, as well as about 2oz of pipe tobacco and assortment of pipes. Had the pipes and snuff right in carry on. Left the tobacco in checked baggage. Kept it in the original tins, but had no problem with x-ray or metal detector. If you are concerned I would say leave it in you checked baggage and keep a small amount with you for the plane.

I once had an airport security guy attempt to confiscate my snuff. It wasn’t until I LOUDLY asked him: “WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU’RE GOING WITH MY PERSONAL PROPERTY?” that he finally decided to see whether it was actually something illegal. Then he rudely returned it to me.

@Ludwig_1954: we have them here. I will get more on mrsnuff soon. http://clubsnuff.com/Highest-Quality-Titanium-Snuff-Vial-The/M/B0082X3GKI.htm

By “bullets”, i assume he means snuff bullets. I would’ent take any other kinds with me. =))

I recently flew to NYC from Colorado without so much as a strange look from security. I even had an unlabeled wooden snuff box. On the plane back, though, one of the flight attendants caught me as I was bringing a pinch to my nose. She said that “dip” isn’t permitted on-board the aircraft. But you can’t break a rule if they can’t catch you breaking it!

Never had any issues - Be proud, looking shady is a sure fire way to get unwanted attention. I normally just sniff in my seat when I’m flying. I would agree about retail containers, customs staff seem to be largely we’ll aware of snuff use.

I just took a few flights and left some tins of Toque in my hand luggage. No problems or questions when that was x rayed and I used it discretely on the plane with no problems. As per comments above I thought properly labeled retail tins were the best option.

I agree. Retail packaging is the way to go. A couple tins of Silver Dollar got to travel with me to Boston last year and there was no problem.

I travel in my own personal jet so I’m never bothered by these sorts of problems. Any problems I might have are usually smoothed over by a few banknotes, if you know what I mean. :))

I never have problems carrying tobacco products on board. One particularly vigilant TSA agent did a double-take at the x-ray image of my snus Icetool and then rushed over to my bin and took it out. He looked closely at it for a minute or two while I put my shoes/belt back on. I asked him if there was a problem. He asked, “What the hell is this?” I calmly said it was an oral tobacco portioning tool. To which he asked, “What the hell does that mean?” I told him I fill it with tobacco and use it to inject the tobacco into my mouth. He threw it back in the bin with a disgusted look on his face and while reaching for a bottle of hand sanitizer said, “You better get outta here!”

@lunecat I’ve personally witnessed the police using much worse language, including the f-word, with citizens. I actually find government employees are more profane than private company employees as a general rule here in the U.S.

Well, America is in a downward spiral. I myself am waiting for an end.

i personally dont mind, as long as he isnt trying to be offensive. i find those that do use language like that far less likely to be fake smiley jobsworths.
