After one year of snuffing

I started snuffing in December of last year. Since then I’ve quit smoking and snuff has become my main source if nicotine. I Love it! My nose has gotten noticeably better all around. I could write all day about the awesomeness that is snuff but I have to say, this message board is almost as good as the snuff! Thanks all!

Nicely said! How did you first discover snuff?

February the 23rd will be my one year mark  and July 8th will be my first year in quite along time off cigarettes.

I absolutely do not miss the chronic coughing or the constant flem or being out in the cold or boiling heat every 20-30 minutes for a cigarette.

Thank you snuff and this awesome snuff community, I owe you!

@cpmcdill a new tobacco shop opened by my old house and they carried silver dollar and toque u.s.a. Im kind of a tobacco fanatic and snuff was the last form of it to try. at the time i thought it might just be a fun little novelty but i just fell in love with it.

You’re just getting started. Theres a whole world of great snuff! Try them all, you’ll find some you love, some you don’t like at first, then discover later that you do, in fact, like it. I’ve been snuffing full time for almost 10 years, with a 30 odd year hiatus from high school days. I think you’ll find that after some time, maybe even now, you’ll never want to go back to inhaling tobacco smoke. Snuff is something I  can’t live without now. Is it addictive? To me it sure is, but it’s a wonderful addiction, no matter what anyone else thinks. I know I’m not alone here at Snuffhouse. Explore and try now ones, all types, you won’t be sorry.

@peacock did you find the transition from cigarettes to snuff a heck of alot easier than those nicotine patches or vaping if you ever tried it?

Lately strangely ive found my self taking pinches less often though when i do pinch they are quite a bit larger. I slowly replaced my cigarettes with pinches of snuff until i made the full transition. I know that i’ve replaced one habit with another though when i was smoking cigarettes i would never go more than an hour without cigarettes.

How did you manage the transition?

I ruined my lungs so it wasnt that hard to quit. i used to live in bakersfield california which has the worst air quality in the U.S. I had to work extra hard on a day that the air was worse than normal and by the time i was done i could barely breath. i had to go to the doctor and they said i had an acute asthma flare up. they gave me antibiotics, steroids, two different inhalers and a breathing treatment machine i had to use 3 times a day. needless to say, i had to quit. i was able to cut it down to 4 or 5 cigs a day but i just couldnt seem to quit entirely until i started snuffing. i was using dip and snus but the problem with those is it takes a good 15 to 20 min to start getting the nicotine. with cigarettes, the nic hit is immediate and and thats what i needed. since the snuff nic hit also happens that quick it made it a lot easier to finally give them up.

i guess i lied though because i do still smoke a pipe a day and i inhale but there is a world of difference between the two. i dont crave a pipe every 20 min and i can go without one for days if i have to.

Congrats. I stared just a bit before you. I also started with silver dollar snuff that I bought from Ye olde pipe and tobacco in Phoenix.
