After more than 5 years trying out as many snuffs as I can I have settled on NTSU Green as my usual everyday snuff. I have a good supplier who always delivers it good and wet and I prefer it this way - I don’t understand why people would let it dry out. I usually get through a tub within a week, but occasionally the tub dries out very quickly and it’s not as pleasant. Can anyone recommend a way of keeping the moisture in the snuff? I have tried to reinvigorate dry NTSU using the usual techniques and it just smells mouldy so I would love to know a trick to keep it as wet as possible. Any ideas?
keep it in a humidor maybe? no need for an expensive one, i use an airtight box/jar and a humidifier designed for humidors.
Buy a snuffbottle and keep it in it. Or in a metal tin like those Samuel Gawith’s
Usually those plastic tubs keep it moist. You may want to try a container designed for snus made of stainless steel or pewter and keep it in the cooler for storage. A thin slice of apple or potato will add plenty of moisture. Citrus peel also will work although will flavor the snuff.

ah yes, i suppose that would work too, though i didnt think of it for snuff.
Thank you for all your replies. I usually find that the plastic containers keep it moist for about 3 days but then it dries very quickly after that and is not as pleasant. I’ll give the apple or citrus peel a try and see how I go. Does stainless steel really work better than plastic?
