Am I right in thinking that people who buy plug prefer it because it takes up less space in the cheek, being more compacted? Is there anything else?
I find it has a richer more complex taste. If that’s because it’s plug or because of the tobacco used I don’t know. Plug also seems stronger which could be in my head. Though one of the really wonderfull things about plug is that it stays better then loose leaf it doesn’t dry out as quickily. I prefer plug in every way. When it’s in the cheek it expands to about the same size relativily as loose does.
Yeah it’s less likely to be dried out, I really like Levi Garrett Plug.
levi plug is awesome it’s the only one I can get localy.
More flavor and it doesn’t migrate all over.
red man plug is also pretty good. Levi I like better.
Cutting it with a pocketknife and bringing it to your mouth pinched against the blade in public is also a beautiful sight.

Though I find it best to just bite off the part you want. You just need sharp teeth like mine (seriousily I think my teeth are weaponized.)
what about the light brown wrapping paper-like stuff that surrounds Red Man Plug: do people chew it or discard it? I discard it, myself.

i am a newbie in chewing tobacco so i wonder how many pieces/times do you chew daily?
@linguist It’s not uncommon where I live for full-time chewers to just have chew in virtually all the time they’re awake unless they’re eating, but people who do that mostly work on farms or in construction or landscaping or whatever so it’s not so much of a hassle.
I enjoy days work and cannonball plug. I find bigger brand plugs ie levi and red an to be no different then the regular chew. Twist tobacco is even more amazing then plug, to my mind. But for some reason I prefer plain tobacco in chew, snuff, cigars.
Snus vs thunder chew vs plug chew vs loose chew? Opinions? Only tried snus and thunder chew, big fan. Oh and twist/pigtail which doesn’t agree with me at all.

@SnuffySnuff If Twist doesn’t agree with you Plug or Loose leaf likely won’t either. Loose leaf is big leaves of tobacco treated in various casing, plug is the same but pressed into a , usually rectangular, cake. Twists are the same as plug, just different shape. Although English twists are generally more cased than American ones, which commonly are quite dry, comparatively.
I have to learn how to discard oral tobacco instead of eating it. But it is so dam tasty :-&
