The first batch is packed and will be on route to the warehouse tomorrow or Saturday. It’s a toasted, citrus/rose dominant SP. I’m very pleased with how it’s turned out and hope you enjoy it. Cheers folks Nigel.
Great! Sounds right up my alley.
These are exciting times to be a snuff enthusiast. I will continue my support to the independent snuff blenders. Keep them coming ;so far they are all favorites of mine.
i hope i can afford a snuff order before this sells out. Abraxas+toast+SP= OMGRHTSAEGSWTHY4W6WY6RTSRBGSEBTSTW5GE53Q23R1CBSRBNVC
I can not express my excitement without resorting to bad words. So here is the watered down version oh hot dang funk the funk,
Now listed at MrSnuff. 25 g only
link? its not there yet for me. this is seriously irritating me now. a week after being on route and still nothing?
That might be because there was only one left when i made my purchase this morning (Australian time). How many where listed initially? Looking forwards to trying it.
Just to let you know I sent a first batch of 100 jars of SC to Mr Snuff - delivery confirmed so it’s there somewhere.
I’ve emailed dave about this - it should also be on sale for the same price as a standard snuff for 25g (Toque etc) which I have also flagged up to him, not the £4.99 listed on Snuffstore.
sounds like MrSnuff is at it again…
It was on mistersnuff the other day,but its taken off now for some reason.
Its on snuffstore though at.4.99.my visa card wont work on this site though.
I’ve been told that there is some kind of issue with the inventory system which is showing it as ‘on order’ - Dave tells me he will process the orders manually, I can only suggest an email to him if you have problems as I really don’t understand their system. It should never have been listed at £4.99 and it is now shown back on Mr Snuff at $5.49 (£3.41) for 25g. Apologies and best wishes, Nigel.
Now listed at £3.99 on snuff store
How was the name chosen for this one?
Just by playing around with the words ‘ultra slow toasted and cased’, which describes how I made it. Naming them is half the fun. One day I may pick a simple name for one of my snuffs - or maybe not.
It is an interesting name. I first mistakenly thought it was Japanese for cherry blossom but that word is actually sakura. Then I tried to look it up and found caesura which is a complete pause in a line of poetry or music. Presumably, for a pinch of snuff I would say. Anyhow, can’t wait to try it.
Having been fortunate enough to have received a sample of St.Casura, I can assure everyone that it is worth waiting for. This snuff is superb. Beautifully balanced lemon and rose flavouring on a gently toasted high nicotine tobacco. Another gem from Abraxas.
Checked MrSnuff, its showing as ‘on order’ for me, and the price is about £4.09 ($6.59). Thats after logging in, it shows as less before that, that still annoys me.
Yep, “on order” here too, but the price shown is $5.49
you logged in? @mouse $5.49 is what it shows me before logging in. the price goes up when i log in.
just logged in, price is still $5.49
Well, I guess we won’t know for sure until we can actually put it in the #$^ shopping cart.
I think the price goes up because of different tax rules.i guess depending on where you are in the world will alter this increase in cost.
never known it happen with any other sites.
It could be that his payment processor is USA based.so tax equations work differently.im sure Mrsnuff explained all this in another thread in sure.
Notice that his other site snuffstore doesn’t do this.uk based.
@lunecat - looking at the screenshots above it is adding on 20% - which in the UK will be the VAT - but I don’t know about US taxes. That sudden increase in price after logging in has annoyed me in the past but taxes are taxes and the site can’t add on the relevant tax until after you have logged in and it knows where you are based. I do prefer it when websites show the total price including VAT and also the net price without VAT for users outside the EU but I presume that most of Mr Snuff’s customers are coming from the USA so that would probably just cause more confusion.
hmm. well i guess it makes sense. still think its pretty cheeky that he charges so much more than other sites.
What I don’t get there in the UK everything is shipped from Belfast but charged in dollars so then there’s an extra bank charges to pay.
@BeeMan - I think from past discussions here that is due to his payment processor. Mr Snuff was originally based in the US but moved his operation to NI after they changed the laws / rules in the US. But yes the additional bank / card charges are a complete pain in the … :((
Just tried this and it is amazing, This snuff is worth the price of admission! All Hail Abraxas ^:)^ .He has done it again, this will be in my top five
@basement_shaman how did you get yours so fast? Mail me a pinch 8->
Just kidding
Thanks Dave, order placed.
I think I am going to tear my mailbox off its hinges checking it so often while I am waiting for this snuff to arrive. :-S
Recieved today. This snuff is magnificent. A must try at the current price. Just ordered 5 more. Well done @Abraxas
So what’s the deal with the moisture and grind on this? Is it effectively a dry/fine toast, but with a SP flavouring?
Fine, moderate moisture (not dry), mild burn, citrus/orange flavour, slight rustica flavour, high nicotine. A very Abraxas SP is the best way i can describe it.
Many thanks @BigNose That’s what I needed to know
Just been paid!so I’ve just ordered some before it runs dry.now the wait.
Just got my order today and I can’t put it down this snuff is amazing!! I just ordered 2 more
Just ordered some from MS today, can’t wait to try it.
I took the plunge as well…I’ve been reading about Abraxas a lot, in a good way. So in my recent Mr Snuff order I went a bit crazy with Abraxas hehe I hope I won’t regret it as it’s rather expensive.I don’t mind paying for quality, but I’ve got high expectations. Here’s what I got Abraxas Café 11 15g Abraxas St-Casura 25g Abraxas FireDrac 15g Abraxas Premium Batch Coarse 15g Along with my Toque refill and Tom Buck and a Snuffhouse Snuff box
I’m loving it but be careful with it!over did it last night and felt sick.first time ever feeling like that.great strong snuff.
@sunnyhours if you dont like them, they may trade well since they are harder to get hold of (mrsnuff only). i know abraxas, 6photo and the snuffhouse snuffboxes are the only reason i will use mrsnuff personally.
@Firestarter0 I’m not a big fan of Indian snuffs so far, In fact I’ve got a bunch of snuffs that I’m sure some people could enjoy a lot more than I do…maybe I should make a trade thread as a lot here would love to get what I don’t like? Turns out I’m more of a English snuff kinda guy
I don’t have a huge desire to try all of the Abraxus range, but this one intrigues me…I may pick it up with Dragun if Mr.Snuff ever gets it restocked…
I really like this snuff. Its complex, I can detect all the scents in there, and love the tobacco. I use it sparingly so it will last me for a while. Someday I will try the others, but these days, St Casura is just fine.
I’ve just emptied the last few grams of this into my snuff box. Yes, it is a good snuff, easy to take and smells nice. I don’t really think of it as an SP, it’s not bright enough for me, and more like orange than bergamot, but that’s what Abraxas have named it. The base tobacco is excellent, really tasty, I think that’s where the rich chocolatey taste is coming from. Definitely glad I tried it.
I am on my third 25. best to get a few so you don’t run out.
I’m thinking of using only the St. Casura during the day while working. I haven’t tried any others by Abraxas, because the coffee and liquor are not too great sounding to me. But I do know that is not a reason not to try snuffs… The dragun sounds pretty crazy and I eat spicy food every meal. Just saying great job, and keep up the good work! Thanks!
I have an (as yet) unopened small tub of St Casura. I’m saving it till I get a bit more experienced. On the tub it’s described as ‘toasted SP.’
@Thunderbird, it would be a great beginner’s snuff. It’s very easy to take, satisfying without being strong.
@Thunderbird when you do try it, its going to be like candy (it is not sweet). It is so good, I just ordered 4 more tubs. Plus after my comment last night I decided to get a Connoisseur cerise and a Dragun.
Mmmmm, thanks that’s whetted my appetite. I had a comment recently that it tasted yeasty to somebody. Anyone else experience this?
I get a licorice kind of taste from it, still haven`t decided if I like it or not.
Seems more than a few people are on the fence on this one. Perhaps one to return to from time to time?
Seems more than a few people are on the fence on this one. Perhaps one to return to from time to time?
@Thunderbird, tastes vary, but I think it could easily serve as an all day, every day snuff.
I’m enjoying St. Casura as well the flavor is not as pronounced as I’d like but the scent that is there is sooo nice,a great snuff! Also man Mr.Snuff is a great company and have always treated me very very well. It’s just that darn shipping that kills I wish it was free shipping over a $100
I’ve liked this snuff for a while now but could never pin point Rose as a scent ingredient . Now that is has been mentioned - it’s so obvious. I like it even more now ( even though I’m not a huge rose fan ), with the exception of Roslein. That snuff is just crazy good.
I be happy with a kilo or two
