Abraxas Club WTF is wrong with it?!

I’m in the process of uploading a video to youtube about this but…

It literally smells like someone crushed up a bunch of cigarettes added salt and maybe an orange peel and ground it all together in a coarse grind.  I wouldn’t be so up in arms about this only I paid 12.95 for this!

What gives Snuffster?!

On a side note: I have received many PMs and emails telling me how wrong I was about the first Abraxas premium that I reviewed on youtube.  The snuff I reviewed was great and now I’m looking like a liar for highly recommending it.

This really has made me hesitate to buy anymore Abraxas…

I definitely could do that.  I’m kind of venting with this post in the first place.  My youtube channel is still in it’s infant stages and… well… me being perceived to be a liar in regards to snuff reviewing doesn’t look too good in my opinion.

it’s understandable. helping get to the bottom of the problem would look good too.And as long as your honest people will see it and the people that don’t simply don’t want to so f— them. And I’am sure you didn’t get your product and it isn’t any ones fault who has a face (who we know), and maybe there is something added that doesn’t hold up under conditions that were not expected. They’re both good guys who care about their product beyond repuation and would rather fix problems then have something crappy going out. I’ve had snuffs ruined by a few things including ambient scents that somehow got into the snuff.

additionaly there isn’t a lot of money made off of this snuff. It’s why there aren’t many snuffs like this knowing what goes into it I would not doubt that Mr.Snuff makes any more money on this snuff then on any other brand and snuffster certainly doesn’t make money. The only bussiness advantage Mr. Snuff gets from selling the snuff is prestige not money (otherwise then ordering from him cause he’s got that snuff so why not make the rest of the order with him), what I’am saying they’ll be happy to help you out.

I’m with bob here. That sounds nothing like Club to me. Although I’d be more than venting after paying $13 for a substandard product. Every company has problems sneak past QC. Even the little ones.

Edit…

All of the Club on sale at the moment comes from one maturing bin. I have just checked this and it is in perfect condition, getting better if anything.

I have no idea what went wrong with your Club, that is not your problem but I really am struggling to work this out. My production methods are based on food handling standards with everything scrubbed and sterilised with a non tainting anti-bacterial. I also heat treat the raw tobacco. But, what does that matter if you have got a bad jar of the stuff, all I can do is apologise

Please PM me so that I can refund you and also replace the jar of course.

I have asked David to pull all Abraxas products from his site. Anyone who has purchased a jar that is not to their liking will be fully refunded.

Best wishes

Nigel McCarren

Dang, Snuffster…why pull all of the product?! There are many tastes in this world and not everyone finds things agreeable to them. Everyone takes a chance when they purchase a product they’ve never had, right?

I agree with Bart, why pull all the product when you can’t be sure if there is even anything wrong with the one jar hes complaining about. It could be (and probably is) that he just doesn’t like Abraxas Club or that he was expecting it to be something it is not.

I agree with Bart and n9inchnails. This is the first complaint I have read about this snuff. It seems that there are plenty of people that absolutely love it, as well as your other snuffs. Please don’t let one complaint end the pleasure for many others.

Please don’t give one person that much power.

I take reviews with a grain of salt.

pull it all.The ones I bought will triple in price when I sell them. Only joking. I’m happy to support Abraxas get off the ground. This is only one reason to stock up on products you enjoy.

Nothing wrong with the jar I have, either. I think you should have more than one negative before you take such drastic actions.

I LOVE MY ABRAXAS!
Dude’s just crazy!!

any product can go wrong and get bummed. It’s just a fact.

Yeah I’m crazy…  I’m trying to get to the bottom of the problem with all the emails I’ve received after I made my Abraxas review, which I recommended it.  Everyone that purchased it after my review sent me emails saying it was horrible.

I even try to explain what the problem might be.  So I take offense to all of you saying it wasn’t what I expected it to be or that I’m crazy, or that there is only one negative person.  I’m apparently the most vocal but I’m not the only person.

Also I’d like to point out again that the first Abraxas that came out I gave a great review for it because the batch I got was amazing.  It’s the people that got it after me that are having problems.

yeah it’s clearly bum. Hey people get emotional about snuff, which is a subtle way of saying no need to be mean to each other.

Why not send a sample of it to Dave or Nigel so they can see if anything is wrong with it, if nothing is, then it’s maybe just a personal taste preference of not liking it as with anything else. I like some things others don’t, and vice versa.

Getting a bad can of snuff happens more frequently than you might imagine. I have no idea why except that we are dealing with a natural product which is fermented, stewed for a considerable time, left to mature etc. It has to be loaded with bacteria, like a good cheese. But even a good cheese can have too much of the good stuff if you know what I mean. Good wines are frequently inadvertently turned into vinegar (which btw simply means “vin aigre” sour wine) etc.

To put things in perspective, I have replaced tins (or had the manufacturer replace) tins for all the major brands out there. Just 2 weeks ago we had a Bernards issue; recently a 200g tub of OnG; last month some SG snuffs were off; you will all remember the bad batch of Wilsons Brunswick, I am sure; F&T and the white bits; Toque losing flavor too fast…I have replaced them all, and when necessary made the effort to contact the manufacturer and ask them to check it out.

Add to the mix that we are dealing with small batch snuff as opposed to the likes of Poschl, and you can be certain that no two batches will be the same, and occasionally the gremlins will rear their ugly heads and cock things up.

With that in mind, I don’t doubt that JoeSnuffer received a duff jar. I can’t speak for people who have emailed him, but Joe is a seasoned snuffer who I reckon knows his snuff. However, the solution is simple: email me and I will refund it.

Another point to remember is the price. It works out at about 50c a gram. That is cheaper than a lot of Poschl products. For my money I know what I would buy. It is like comparing coors with micro-brew. If you want a consistently ok product, stick with the big boys; if you are willing to take a small risk for a (imho) typically far superior product, go with the micro-brew.

What I would truly hate to see happen would be for Snuffster to take this too much to heart and give up. We are on the cusp of him releasing what I consider to be one of the best new snuffs in while, namely Dragun. My understanding is that it is a less fickle snuff to produce which means that there are less likely to be any issues. I have about one gram of the sample I received left. I need more.

In short, I believe this is a hiccup, and we should treat it thus, and not over-react.

Any thoughts?
