I’m in the process of uploading a video to youtube about this but…

It literally smells like someone crushed up a bunch of cigarettes added salt and maybe an orange peel and ground it all together in a coarse grind.  I wouldn’t be so up in arms about this only I paid 12.95 for this!

What gives Snuffster?!

On a side note: I have received many PMs and emails telling me how wrong I was about the first Abraxas premium that I reviewed on youtube.  The snuff I reviewed was great and now I’m looking like a liar for highly recommending it.

This really has made me hesitate to buy anymore Abraxas…

B

J

I definitely could do that.  I’m kind of venting with this post in the first place.  My youtube channel is still in it’s infant stages and… well… me being perceived to be a liar in regards to snuff reviewing doesn’t look too good in my opinion.

B

it’s understandable. helping get to the bottom of the problem would look good too.And as long as your honest people will see it and the people that don’t simply don’t want to so f— them. And I’am sure you didn’t get your product and it isn’t any ones fault who has a face (who we know), and maybe there is something added that doesn’t hold up under conditions that were not expected. They’re both good guys who care about their product beyond repuation and would rather fix problems then have something crappy going out. I’ve had snuffs ruined by a few things including ambient scents that somehow got into the snuff.

B

additionaly there isn’t a lot of money made off of this snuff. It’s why there aren’t many snuffs like this knowing what goes into it I would not doubt that Mr.Snuff makes any more money on this snuff then on any other brand and snuffster certainly doesn’t make money. The only bussiness advantage Mr. Snuff gets from selling the snuff is prestige not money (otherwise then ordering from him cause he’s got that snuff so why not make the rest of the order with him), what I’am saying they’ll be happy to help you out.

B

I’m with bob here. That sounds nothing like Club to me. Although I’d be more than venting after paying $13 for a substandard product. Every company has problems sneak past QC. Even the little ones.

J

Edit…

A

All of the Club on sale at the moment comes from one maturing bin. I have just checked this and it is in perfect condition, getting better if anything.

I have no idea what went wrong with your Club, that is not your problem but I really am struggling to work this out. My production methods are based on food handling standards with everything scrubbed and sterilised with a non tainting anti-bacterial. I also heat treat the raw tobacco. But, what does that matter if you have got a bad jar of the stuff, all I can do is apologise

Please PM me so that I can refund you and also replace the jar of course.

A

I have asked David to pull all Abraxas products from his site. Anyone who has purchased a jar that is not to their liking will be fully refunded.

Best wishes

Nigel McCarren

B

Dang, Snuffster…why pull all of the product?! There are many tastes in this world and not everyone finds things agreeable to them. Everyone takes a chance when they purchase a product they’ve never had, right?

N

I agree with Bart, why pull all the product when you can’t be sure if there is even anything wrong with the one jar hes complaining about. It could be (and probably is) that he just doesn’t like Abraxas Club or that he was expecting it to be something it is not.

S

I agree with Bart and n9inchnails. This is the first complaint I have read about this snuff. It seems that there are plenty of people that absolutely love it, as well as your other snuffs. Please don’t let one complaint end the pleasure for many others.

Please don’t give one person that much power.

I take reviews with a grain of salt.

B

pull it all.The ones I bought will triple in price when I sell them. Only joking. I’m happy to support Abraxas get off the ground. This is only one reason to stock up on products you enjoy.

M

Nothing wrong with the jar I have, either. I think you should have more than one negative before you take such drastic actions.

T

I LOVE MY ABRAXAS!
Dude’s just crazy!!

B

any product can go wrong and get bummed. It’s just a fact.

J

Yeah I’m crazy…  I’m trying to get to the bottom of the problem with all the emails I’ve received after I made my Abraxas review, which I recommended it.  Everyone that purchased it after my review sent me emails saying it was horrible.

I even try to explain what the problem might be.  So I take offense to all of you saying it wasn’t what I expected it to be or that I’m crazy, or that there is only one negative person.  I’m apparently the most vocal but I’m not the only person.

Also I’d like to point out again that the first Abraxas that came out I gave a great review for it because the batch I got was amazing.  It’s the people that got it after me that are having problems.

B

yeah it’s clearly bum. Hey people get emotional about snuff, which is a subtle way of saying no need to be mean to each other.

T

Why not send a sample of it to Dave or Nigel so they can see if anything is wrong with it, if nothing is, then it’s maybe just a personal taste preference of not liking it as with anything else. I like some things others don’t, and vice versa.

P

I’ve been using Abraxas Club exclusively since I’ve received it about a month ago.  This is one of the finest snuffs I’ve ever had the privilege of putting up my nose.  I can’t think what went wrong with the snuff Joesnuffer received.

B

definatly something though. Happens all the time with lots of things. Food and other manufactured goods. People sometimes are just straight up defective and it’s no ones fault really.

I

Every jar of Abraxas I have bought premium and club have been wonderful decadent treats. Even my wife who hates snuff will open the jar and sniff it regularly. It would be a tragedy for it To be pulled from production because of one off jar. Please reconsider snuffster. I’m waiting with baited breath to get my hands on some dragun.

S

I agree with what @Theatre said - why not send a sample of it to Nigel (Snuffster) so he can find out exactly what’d gone wrong with it…

V

@mr.snuff pretty much said it all. I still havn’t tried Abraxas, and this issue certainly wont stop me either. I still wish it wasn’t a dollar a gram.

J

I’m in the process of sending it back to whoever will take it just for evidence sake.  I’m honestly not trying to stir up the shit pot here.  I’m just conveying information that was given to me.  I LIKE ABRAXAS!

S

I think the first Abraxas you reviewed was the first version. The 2nd version had a different tobacco base and was a totally different snuff. The subsequent Abraxas Premium returned to the original tobacco, at least I think it did.

Having had the first batch and the 2nd batch…I was disappointed with the 2nd batch. Had I felt strongly enough about it I would have contact Snuffster privately.

I suspect the emails you received were about the 2nd batch that came out before Club,  Cerise or the current batch of Premium. Just my guess…All of the remaining bottles of it disappeared in one transaction. My guess has long been that Snuffster pulled it.

With regard to reviews there are some people that love every snuff they try. I can’t rely on their reviews. There are some people that love snuffs I hate. I can’t rely on their reviews. That’s why I take reviews with a grain of salt. Not just yours…everybody’s.

What I look for in reviews is basic information. What is the grind, moisture, style and scent. After that it’s up to me to try it and see if I like it. That’s probably why I don’t watch many video reviews. Takes to long to get to the information I am interested in. Sorry you caught so much flack for your review. I saw that review. I did not blame you for my not liking the snuff :))

S

Thanks Dave…reaffirms why I don’t gamble…my guesses there are about as accurate
:))

B

the dragun by the way is just divine.

J

Listen, I don’t want to damage anyone’s reputation at all especially not the person that makes abraxas.  I was just pointing out that I felt my reputation as a reviewer was kind of coming under fire.  I still think Abraxas makes a great product there just might have been a small hiccup or something like that.

H

@bob …I would say that now you are just rubbing our noses in it, but that doesn’t quite work here…

B

Good point. I love snuff and I never understood the desert island snuff (though dessert island snuff I got), now I’ve tried it. And everyone should try it even if they don’t love it they’d have to admit it’s one of a kind.

A

Firstly, a sincere, massive thank you for all the messages of support. It would be hard to put into words what they mean to me.

Secondly, I recognise that joesnuffer has an absolute right to say what he wants about mine or any other snuff. I would never contest a bad review. Joe: say what you like - it is your right to do so on this site.

Thirdly: I don’t make a red cent on the snuff I sell, just enough to cover making more - for me it is a labour of love and, hopefully without sounding absurdly pompous, selling Abraxas is more like selling one of my paintings than doing business. So if I sounded a touch insane telling Dave to take Abraxas of the shelves it probably is because I am a touch insane. Sorry.

F

They say bad publicity is still publicty If anything, all the hooplah has actually made me want to try it even worse!

J

@snuffster lemme see a few of your paintings :)     there was the old thread here but it never made it on to the new site

A

The ones I like I give away, the ones I don’t no one sees.

Now I simply must remove one of my ears…

B

actualy one of your friends probably should remove it and then you lie to cover for the bastard.

A

Yeah, maybe I will, hehe…Bob you towering eccentric…says an ex cop who makes snuff…

B

Well it would keep with the tradion better. Since it’s unlikely Mr. Van Gogh cut off his own ear. Well it’s also best to be eccentric.

A

His earlobe anyhow, I think after he had been stalking Gauguin with the intention of using the razor on him. Fuelled by la fee verte.

B

Well Gauguin did like fighting alot and was not in any way above fighting his friends. Gauguin was a class a $ or so I’ve heard. Though there is a great song about it.
