A word on snuff bullets

Hi, Sorry if this info has already been posted but I just wanted to offer a word of caution to anyone buying a metal bullet. Before you fill it, open it and blow through it - turn the thing on the side and blow through again - repeat a couple of times and tap it out a few times. Metal bullets have been turned on a lathe - mine still had a sizable piece of swarf in it along with some other metalic dust and filings…not what you want to be putting up your nose. So make sure you clean your metal bullet before you fill it. Cheers. Ubert

Thank you for your advice. My new snuff bullet is just on its way to me.

I usually dismantle mine and wash it in hot water. The machining oils and such aren’t something I want in my nose.

As @dogwalla stated I always dismantle mine and clean it thoroughly with a q-tip to vet the oil off of it and any small metal fillings.

That is some solid advice!

OK now whats wrong with machine oil or cutting fluid? I wear it almost daily as an admired fragrance.(laughing) Yes, the people that clean off the product before it gets dipped are only shop helpers beginning to learn the trade. These also get assembled somewhere else and I am sure there isn’t much quality control

Finally after owning a bullet for a couple of days I have decided it is not for me - it’s a metal Blizzard - just doesn’t deliver like a healthy pinch or two…ok, or three, straight from the tin. It could come in handy though, I have some work to do on my house so I could attach it to a length of string and use it as a plumb-line…any other practical suggestions for alternative use of a metal bullet?

You could throw it at the squirrel that’s been pestering your bird feeder…

bullet tip put a double or triple load in the chamber. Turn bullet upside down put finger over hole load chamber dump onto finger covering hole keep finger on hole do this several times. turn chamber so closed turn bullet right side up magickally you have a bigger pile loaded in bullet. Snuffs more evenily too when you’re not pulling snuff from the hole in the twirly part of the bullet.

Enjoy them while you have them. I heard in our country that they are trying to outlaw semi automatics (laughing)

i don’t like bullets. I think they are useless for snuffs.

Those big ones that were discussed in another thread are awesome. They still have the same problems with low capacity, but the amount delivered is great. It’s the only thing I’ll use while driving.

When I first tried a bullet with dry scotch snuffs, I wanted to toss it in the trash because I didn’t understand how to snuff without hitting my throat. Now that I do, it wouldn’t matter what I use and a bullet does have a place in the snuff world At least my world. I still prefer to pinch or use the back of my hand

Bullets are very useful for Schmalzler, because it sticks to your fingers like hell :))

I have a few of the clear acrylic ones from mrsnuff and to me they work pretty darn good. My normal portions are medium but FUBAR/Dholakia snuffs work well in mine.

Oh dear! I have just spilled a huge amount of my favourite mix while opening the tin!!! Oh well, I’ll just have to hoover it up I suppose…my oh my, who’d be me… how could I possibly get all that in my tiny little nose… :)) a dirty job but someone has to do it I guess…

Thats funny! Wish we were there to help you out

I’ve said it before bullets are great for the outdoors when the weather won’t let you pinch or put on the back of your hand. You know heavy winds or rains.

Mr. Fox, your compassion for fellow snuff users knows no bounds

I finally got a metal bullet, but the portion was insanely small. As I’m no stranger to customizing, I took out the drill and took it upon myself to bore out the portion chamber and the sniffing hole. Now this thing is amazing.
