I have searched the web for these answers but i could never fins clear answers and they differed from site to site.

The specific snuff in question in Poschl Snuffy Weiss as i have it on the way

  1. What is it made of if not tobacco?

  2. How and in what ways does it differ from normal snuff?

  3. Will it work the same in my bullet? (Posh Bullet)

  4. If you have tried this snuff…how is it?

Thank you in advance for your answers and input

  1. Sugar and menthol

  2. There’s no tobacco, no nicotine.  There is no  nic buzz/rush or tobacco flavor to be gained from it.  It has menthol so will clear/open sinuses at least temporarily.  Menthol has the tendency to cause a paradoxical sinus closing effect in many indivduals.  Its white, really white (not tan) not  a shade of brown or black like tobacco snuff.

In short, it  is different in pretty much every way.  Its as different as water is from land.

3.  No clue.  I don’t use bullets.

  1. No, but I have tried Wilson’s and Lotzbeck’s versions of white snuff.  Both were sweet and mentholly.  Not much fun for me.  Also the powder is very fluffy, like confectioner’s sugar.  This makes takng it like normal snuff very diffcult.  It doesn’t hold to itself very well, its more like the dust that gathers on a table, and little breeze will send it flying away.

Huh…that makes it sound much less desirable…

There are also guarana sugar snuffs that are as lame. They all work in bullets as well as bullets work. Aside from the Menthol and the Guarana there are herbal snuffs available. Molens DeKralingse makes a couple I know there are a few others. I just make my own, My favorite to date is a salvia / centella mix with clip dagga flowers and saffron added.

@jamesqm and Juxtaposer: 1) Potpourri No. 1 and No. 2 consists of flowers, herbs and spices. Mentholin consists of Rice flour, Boric acid, Milksugar, Orris root, coffee, vegetable dyes and menthol. 2) No tobacco, no nicotin, Effects of herbs and spices,  and menthol. 3) You have to try, the potpourri’s are pretty coarse; mentolin is fine. 4)  No comments

I’ve tried Poschl Snuffy Weiss, Bernards, and Wilsons White and can not add to Xander’s comments.

Jaap’s two none tobacco snuffs are not white, and are different beasts and quiet nice for a change in snuff taking.

Thank you all for your input and answers  =)

I think Snuffy Weiss has quite a nice minty smell, it’s like crushed up Tic Tacs - but the aroma only lasts for a couple of seconds, unfortunately.

@Snuffhead: Agreed.  They are pleasant and interesting enough from time to time.  I have as yet to try the new Potpourii No. 2. If it is as nice as No.1 it should be good. So actually, non tobacco snuffs could be broken into classifications: 1) Herbal blends 2) White (sugar-menthol based) 3) Energy snuffs, some of which use the white base, but all contain some stimulant such as caffeine or guarana

@jamesqm18 I am nearly sure that the idea of non-tobacco snuff isn´t that much younger then real snuff. @Xander is right, that is way diffrent from tobacco snuff, if you take aside the facts that both are a kind of powder and belong in your nose. Well, i would say that they have their place. There a quite a few variants out and i am sure that someone is buying them - i am just not sure what people do so. Would be interesting to know, how much members here actually use some non-tobacco snuff from time to time. I do.

Well, i got some comin in this week so i guess ill see how it is.

Like I said, I make my own. I also have a Ava root mix That is nice and I have tens of grams of pure ground guarana that I mix with tobacco though I could mix with something else or take it straight if I wanted. I had a friend give me a tapper of Tiger Cherry. It’s O.K. I guess. It might be fun for you kids to do.
