Im going to have to succumb and buy some tickets. I normally don’t play but that dollar amount is just too good to miss a chance at winning. That would buy a LOT of snuff!
Naa… The surest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back into your pocket!
Of course, and ‘when I win’ what a snuff shop of my own I will run…
When it gets that high I have to buy a ticket.
Might as well buy two tickets and double your chances of winning…
I chipped in for tickets at work. Don’t wanna be the only one still working there if we Hit!
a 1 in 173,000,000 chance of winning, good luck with that!

I know. But it’s 2 bucks what the Heck. Why not.
A reporter on the news mentioned last night that you have a better chance of being elected President of the United States (1 in 10,000,000) than winning this Powerball jackpot. I am officially announcing the formation of my Presidential exploratory committee now…
Someone has to win it even at those odds. And if I don’t play I have no chance at winning. I bought 4 tickets. One can dream
the thing is the odds of winning stay the same no matter how many people do it or how much its worth . there still is only 48 numbers ( or whatever it is ) other people might have the same numbers as you so you would share the money . I always point this out to people
Gambling is illegal in Hawaii.
better chance of getting a box of money dropped on you or finding it in the attic.
Looks like it was 1 winner in Florida… that is one lucky person!
If its CStokes, he’ll spend it all on Grand Cairo. =))
It’s funny how many people get excited when a jackpot reaches these proportions as if we would turn our nose up at a paltry 2-3 million.
I am happy when I hit for $200. Takes care of my Mr.snuff order for the month
Yep, two dollars of that jackpot is mine. Heres a thought-if the odds are 173,000,000 to 1, could the winner not just take the winnings, buy 173,000,000 tickets, and win again?
probably not a good idea. The pot most likely would be smaller, tickets are $2/each, and there is a possibility of having to split the proceeds with other winners.
So exactly how much of this 600 000 000 will be lost to taxes. That’s the one good thing about Canada, you don’t pay taxes on lottery winnings and you don’t claim winnings on your income tax.
@n9inchnails the winner ended up getting 376.9 million
^ and then he has to claim that on his income tax and get taxed again

Problems, problems …
