6 Photo medicated and natural snuffs

Addendum September 2011 6 Photo are about to launch two new snuffs to the excellent range, and fortune has smiled on me again with a chance to review the snuffs prior to release. 6 Photo medicated ******************* A golden brown, medium to fine milled snuff with a medium nicotine hit. My take on menthols is that you should always be able to detect the tobacco base - as opposed to a pure menthol blast and 6 Photo medicated is one of the relatively few, in my opinion, that actually has a discernable tobacco flavour. After all, if you want nothing but menthol you may as well use a Vicks inhaler (I think some menthols are made of Vicks judging by the taste). So, when you take a pinch of this snuff you get the refreshing menthol blast but hard on its heels a nice, rich tobacco flavour. There is nothing fancy about this snuff, it is just a good, decent menthol and it holds up well in comparison with snuffs like Hedges L260 or Toque menthol. 6 Photo natural **************** When you set this side by side with medicated you are clearly looking at the same flour, so the description is as above. Now this is a snuff made for lovers of good, honest plain snuffs - great tobacco flavour, smooth mill and just the merest hint of something else in the background - a kind of pleasant sour/spice note. I believe any experienced snuff user would get the fact that this is an Indian snuff after one pinch - even when offered as plain snuffs, Indian products shout out their heritage, and an excellent and well established heritage it is. Both the natural and medicated are no nonsense, snuff takers snuffs. Both would sit happily in a daily rotation without you ever getting bored of them - like good bread or beer, plain is something to aspire to sometimes. The range is expanding to a first rate catalogue of snuffs and if you have never tried a 6 Photo snuff I suggest you put a couple of cans onto your next order.
