After inquiring to Mrsnuff regarding the inventory status of 5 Photo a couple of months ago (it has been out of stock for a long time) I discovered that he was having issues getting in contact with producer/receiving the product. Upon viewing the site today, it appears 5 Photo is no longer listed any more. I love this snuff; it is the best stuff I’ve ever had, and I desperately want to acquire more of it. I figure if anyone knows where to get some, this would be the ideal place to ask. Does anyone know where I can purchase 5 Photo snuffs?
Maybe Vikas Grover of 6 photo snuff might have an idea of what is going on.
Yeah…I have given up. I tried emailing dozens of times, even tried directly through their website…all to no avail. Looks like he has taken my money and run.
I sent them a snotty email as well. No response.
probably got kidnaped
Sorry to hear you got ripped off. Too bad all biz’ are not honest ones.
That’s too bad. I really liked super himalaya. @mr.snuff, Thanks for your efforts, and I’m sorry to hear about your loss!
I understand Mr. Snuff, and am sorry to hear that things turned out that way. Not a very reputable way to do business on their part… I have found some 5 Photo available on hookah1.com, though it is not clear whether they offer Himalaya or Super (the product description and image do not match). Does anyone have experience with this site?
Perhaps it is just me, but I for one would boycott doing business with 5 photo if they are not a reputable company. I should not judge them as there may be a valid reason for not answering emails and not shipping products. But if that is not the case, well then it is another matter. All of us here have done, or will do business with the folks at Mr. snuff or with Roderick at Toque or snuffstore. Why take a chance? I ran a gunshop near chicago for a number of yrs long ago. I found it easier to avoid companies who were a pain to deal with. Thats just me. I will butt out now, sorry for the intrusion.
Graybeard, you are exactly right. I for one will not do business or order any snuff from a company that is doing one of our own dirty.
I do wonder, is 5 photo an offshoot of 6 photo? The dark snuffs are almost identical.
@BigsnootMcSnuff: Only in the sense that Gawith Hoggarth is an offshoot of Samuel Gawith or that J&H Wilson’s is an offshoot of Wilsons of Sharrow. We had a rep from 5 Photo that used to post here, and he explained that there was a family connection from way back, but they have been seperate for a very long time. Speculation, based on observation of this site over several years: Only one company from India is dominant at a time in our Anglo-centric market. I’m not sure how business ethics are in India, but it seems to me that Dholakia significanty decreased their presence here when Sun Snuffs announced themselves. 5 Photo then announced themselves and Sun Snuffs faded away, and Dholakia’s presence seemed to disappear altogether. Then Six Photo announced themselves and 5 Photo dropped off very quickly, and now seems either in hiding or feels snubbed. The thing is, we knew about these companies already due to their web presence, and were eager to explore the best they had to offer. It seems though, that there is room for all of them here, as snufftakers generally seem to enjoy a range of snuffs from various companies and regions. Is there some behind the scenes intimidation going on? Have feelings been hurt by a percieved abandonment?
I don’t think there is any behind the scenes intimidation or any politics being played here.Actually the thing is that market for snuff in India and Tibet is really huge and the sales volume here selling through net is miniscule, not even one percent of the local sales. As no major sales occur, the initial enthusiasm of foreign trade wears off and gradually the company withdraws from the scene. This is my personal observation. No offence meant to anybody.
I mean no offence either, merely an observation that has aroused a curiosity.
What Vikas says makes perfect sense. In the big picture, the American, and the online community are ‘small potatoes’ compared to their target consumer. That having been said though, it still doesn’t excuse the fact that 5 Photo cashed Dave’s check and didn’t deliver the product he purchased. Whether he’s a small customer or not, where I come from that’s called THEFT. I’m what you would call one of Dave’s smaller customers. I’ve only spent around 200 dollars at Mr. Snuff - I’m sure that’s tiny compared to some of his long time buyers. But he never made me feel like a small customer. He’s always been great at answering my silly email questions, and he has always DELIVERED what I payed for. THAT is the way you do business. So there’s NO excuse for 5 Photo’s behavior with Dave except to say that for all intents and purposes, they are THIEVES. I hope they prove me wrong. But until they do, you know what they say: “If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, etc, etc, etc…”
I can only wish that Vikas will stay with us for a long, long time.
I only wish I could get some god damn Himalaya!
Since I was raised near chicago, I always figure .do right by those you do biz with. only right. I for one, just me. I would contact INTERPOL…snuff said Refund, or ship product
Ok, I haven’t asked before for fear of looking like a ‘n00b’, but what on earth does ‘5 photo’ and ‘6 photo’ mean? I know they make snuff, but what’s with the name?
it’s because of illiterate buyers who would describe the packaging of the snuff. Seriously that’s the origin of that nameing style. Got that from the horses mouth (no Vikas we don’t think you’re a horse, it’s just a saying.)
