3rd Day of snuffing and the Delivery from McCrystalsUSA.

Today I got my McChrystals delivery of five snuffs in the 8.75 gram tins…

  • Original&Genuine
  • English Menthol
  • Anisette
  • Clove
  • Hops

I went right to the O&G and found it to be a menthol (I didnt expect that) An otherwise natural scent and a good kick is my take on this one.

Then I tried the Anisette (I was really eager to have this as I love licorice) And because of over eagerness sent the first dose right to the back of the throat :-S.  I then calmed down a bit and tried again. Voila! Just what I has hoped it would be like. Nice and sweet and strong that made my nose so very very happy!

Then I tried the Clove (after a good blowing out of the nose) and found It to be very nice and sweet with all the complexity I was looking forward to when I ordered. A delicious treat I gave both sides a try of.  My only “issue” :-? with this one was the scent doesnt last long.  After a bit more cleaning out I tried the English Menthol and found it to between the Toque Menthol and the McChrystals O&G in strength (as far as the amount of menthol).

I next tried the Hops from McChrystals and wasnt sure what to think as I really didnt know what hops tastes like (except from drinking beer).

It had some burn to it but i really wasnt sure what the flavour was so I decided to do a rinse out of the sinuses to give me a fuller chance to catch onto what I was getting from it.  After a good rinse out I tried again, this time with noticeably more burn (most likely cause it was in a “fresh nose”) and basically noticed it to be a zingy (is that a word?)or zesty snuff with a natural tobacco  flavour to it.

Then I decanted most of the anisette into one of my two rococo tap boxes as I knew I wanted to snuff this all day long and went into a final round of trials to see what snuff I wanted to decant in my other tap box Since I knew I wanted to keep my menthols for first of the day and end of night snuffing the "competition came down between Hops and Clove, After placing small amounts in each nostril I decided that I wanted to reserve the Clove to being a back up for the Anisette (which I decided I would immediately stock up on) as the sweetness made it a good all day candidate. I then decided I hadnt fully made up my mind up about Hops since my knowledge of the flavour it was supposed to be was a mystery to me so I put about a 2 grams (by volume) in the other tap box to continue experimenting with it.

Overall I am exceedingly pleased with my order from McChrystalsUSA and look forward to doing business with them again

I like the hops it’s one of the few snuffs I pinch ; warming it up between the fingers brings out the flavor ,Mostly I use a spoon or boxcar menthol for the majority of my snuffing.

The flavor of th hops is the zesty, earthy scent of… well, hops. Hops are the flowers of the hops plant (Humulus lupulus) whis is used lend bitterness to beer. Different varietals lend different flavors, to me McC’s hops seems to use english fuggles or goldings (most likely goldings). Edit for a send thought: Sometimes McC’s hops can come off a little ‘dank’ if you know ehat I mean. That’s because Hops are related to hemp and the other ‘dank’ cousin also.

Re McChrystals Hops: looked up online what hops smells and now I pick up on the citrus/grapefruit aroma. I am decanting a good share of this now into the box with the small amount i started with.   So far Ive decided to go gungho  on ordering McChrystal’s Anisette and then ordering 10g tins of Toque Original, Ginger, and Almond

I have decided that I will be using McChrystal’s Anisette, Clove, Hops and Toque Ginger, Original, and Almond as alternating all day snuffs ( I will be getting more tap boxes for this.) I definitely feel at this point that while I use another flavour for the all-day snuff the anisette will be there to alternate with it as the sweetness of it isSooooo Delicious

@SandwhichIsles sorry, ur comment came in while typing my update. I do get some of the notes you describe in the scent. I really like the zestiness and this could be a wake up blend for me along with menthols and Toque Original

No worries, I’m an avid home brewer, hops are a passion of mine.
