Snuff Mold?

I have a 450 gm tub of Fribourg and Treyer snuff.Santo domingo to be exact.I opened it to see glass hairs. All I can say is it looked like fiberglass hairs. Is this a type of mold or just an additive in the snuff? Thanks any help would be appreciated.

You are safe, it’s alkali salts, 100% sure. I had the same experience with this snuff.

As stated above it is salt that has crystalized. Your description of “glass” hairs brings to my mind crystals and not mold. Mold is fuzzy. Santo Dominigo is a high salt snuff and with age the salt starts to crystalize, I have the same thing in my tin.
